The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. They will bring a positive, customer-focused attitude and a willingness to learn. Prior food and beverage or cashier experience is preferred but not required, and in-room dining experience is a plus.

Overview:

The Host person is responsible for ensuring the prompt recognition and seating of all guests in outlets as assigned and assists the servers in providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to guests throughout their dining experience. He/she is also responsible for assisting the cashier in the collection of payment for all guest transactions.<div></div><div>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner.</li><li>
Be attentive of guests&rsquo; needs assist in providing a pleasant dining experience.</li><li>
Assist cashier in collection of money or credit cards from guests and servers as needed.</li><li>
Know how to prepare cashier report at the end of the shift.</li><li>
Pay out servers&rsquo; and service attendants&rsquo; tips if appropriate.</li><li>
Know how to properly take reservations for outlets.</li><li>
Ensure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearance.</li><li>
Perform opening and closing duties according to established sidework checklist.</li><li>
Have a complete knowledge of standards of service for receiving a room service order.</li><li>
Have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in all applicable departments.</li><li>
Assist servers and cashiers in the servicing of guests as needed.</li><li>
Know and understand the state liquor laws.</li><li>
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.</li><li>
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.</li><li>
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.</li><li>
Ability to stand during entire shift.</li><li>

Take room service orders over the phone. Answer questions on menu selections, and check with kitchen staff. Answer guest questions or concerns regarding the origin, vintage, and style of various wines. Place and log call back for room service order. Notify guests and management of delays in service delivery. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day. Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order. Complete all closing reports, including MICROS reports. Process all payment methods.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests&rsquo; service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
