Hudson Valley Justice Center (HVJC) is a not-for-profit law firm serving low income immigrants in the Hudson Valley. HVJC handles a broad range of civil legal matters, including housing, immigration, family law, public benefits, disability, consumer, and employment law. HVJC is currently the only organization representing non-citizens in eviction proceedings in Westchester, Orange, Dutchess, Putnam, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties. In addition to individual matters, HVJC handles class actions, participates in community organizing, and fights for legislative change that promotes equal access to justice. Position

HVJC has immediate openings for full-time a Housing Attorney serving Dutchess County. This Attorney will represent low-income tenants and families in housing matters. The Attorney will provide direct representation in a broad range of housing matters, including: evictions, illegal lockouts, and habitability/condemnation advocacy for tenant groups.

NOTE: HVJC provides staff with a laptop, VOIP phone application, and all necessary security safeguards for seamless remote work. Personal appearances in various local courts are required. The Attorney will be expected to staff the Newburgh office, with some hybrid hours. 
Responsibilities:

<li>Develop individual cases and manage a caseload</li>
<li>Refer clients to community partners where appropriate, ensuring clients receive holistic services whenever possible</li>
<li>Litigate matters in city and justice courts (some night court appearances are necessary), including federal court, and appellate practice</li>

Position Summary
Empire Justice Center is pleased to announce an opening for a Supervising Senior Attorney. This position will represent tenants in eviction proceedings on Long Island, primarily in Suffolk County. The Staff Attorney will provide direct legal representation, primarily in eviction defense cases. The Geneva office services a five county region: Livingston, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates. The beginning salary for a Staff Attorney at LawNY with no experience is $75,000 and the salary for a Staff Attorney with thirty years of experience is $111,100. Salary will be based on experience. LawNY is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program(PSLF).

RESPONSIBILITIES 
These are the most significant responsibilities and primary functions of the position.

 POSITION: Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) is seeking a Staff Attorney in our Monroe office, which serves Monroe and Lenawee Counties. The staff attorney will provide a range of individual advocacy and impact work, with a focus on housing and consumer law.
 
 
 DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM: LSSCM has served low-income residents of 13 counties in south central Michigan for more than 50 years. LSSCM helps individuals and families achieve safety, stability, and economic security by providing free civil legal services with an emphasis on homelessness prevention, domestic violence and elder abuse prevention, and assistance in accessing health care, food, and needs-based income programs. LSSCM is a program of Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP). In addition to LSSCM, MAP manages six statewide programs serving immigrant communities (Michigan Immigrant Rights Center), vulnerable older adults (Michigan Elder Justice Initiative), victims of domestic violence and elder abuse (Crime Victims Legal Assistance Program), and providing access to legal information to self-represented litigants (Michigan Legal Help Program), and providing case support and training for all the legal services providers in Michigan (Michigan Poverty Law Program).  BENEFITS: Starting salary is from $63,672 depending on experience. MAP offers a generous benefits package including life, short and long term disability, health, vision, dental and flexible spending accounts. Legal Assistance of Western NY seeks to fill an opening for a Supervising Attorney in the area of Housing Law, specifically: Fair Housing and Civil Rights Laws. This position can be located in our Olean, Rochester or Geneva office. We encourage applicants with a wide range of substantive legal experience to apply. We expect those who fill this position will grow and adapt their practice to the needs of the community and the organization, and place an emphasis on supervision skills and the ability to practice in multiple forums. The candidate must have the caring, patience, and emotional maturity to help low-income people overcome crisis situations. 
The Supervising Attorney provides leadership and supervision in supplying comprehensive legal services to eligible clients and the ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of how civil legal issues affecting low-income communities intersect with social and economic justice. Supervisors play a critical role in realizing LawNY&reg;&rsquo;s vision of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Every supervisor is expected to actively engage in learning and becoming increasingly skilled in supervision that supports this vision. 
QUALIFICATIONS 
These are the basic requirements for the position.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

The beginning salary for a Supervising Attorney at LawNY with 3 years of experience is $85,000 and the salary for a Supervising Attorney with 30 years of experience is $116,600. Salary will be based on experience. LawNY is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program(PSLF).

RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Manage multiple tasks and deadlines while supervising caseload of supervisees and coordinate the periodic review of the cases.</li>
<li>Identify leadership development and mentoring opportunities for supervisees and train less-experienced attorneys, paralegals and/or other staff in their pursuit of career advancement.</li>
<li>Create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for supervisees.</li>
<li>Build relationships and collaborate with human services providers, non-profit organizations, community groups, and impacted community members as well as the courts, administrative tribunals, and the private bar to address legal problems within our community.
</li><li>Take responsibility for proper grant management requirements, program reporting, timekeeping, file maintenance, case closing, and compliance review.</li>
<li>Maintain a high level of professional competence through attendance of training sessions, seminars and conferences and individual efforts to keep abreast of current developments in the area of poverty law and the application of an equity lens to client service.</li>
