<p><b>What will you be doing:</b></p>
<p>The Facilities Planning, Design &amp; Construction (FPD&amp;C) Planner/Designer is to provide planning and design services to all departments on a prioritized basis under the direction of the FPD&amp;C designated Senior Architect, Architect, Project Manager, and guidance from other FPD&amp;C support staff. In the course of providing these services, the Planner/Designer will support pre-design development, project management, and the subsequent Construction-in-Progress application; develop space plans and project requirements; be responsible for procurement or movement of equipment/furnishings; coordinate project scheduling with the overall project schedule; and assist with development of the annual and Master Facility Plan (MFP) budgets. These activities will be performed within the prescribed CSHS space, furniture, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and associated standards. The Planner/Designer will work in close coordination with the FPD&amp;C architects, medical planners, project managers, project coordinators, finance, and administration. The Planner/Designer will also work closely with other CSHS Project Delivery Team members, and supervise the activities of architect/engineers, contractors, and vendors. The project may range from full capital construction of new space to room renovations.</p>
<ul><li>Supports FPDC Senior Architect, Architect or Project Managers within project clusters that include a portfolio of projects across the health system.</li>
<li>Responsible for planning the project from conception to completion of construction administration, move transitions and go-live.</li>
<li>Initiates Project Start-up that defines the scope, budget, schedule and quality of the project.</li>
<li>Develops programming information as needed if business plan is not available.</li>
<li>Creates space plan or test fit to validate program.</li>
<li>Determines delivery method with FPDC management.</li>
<li>Initiates Gate Review process.</li>
<li>Submits Construction in Progress (CIP).</li>
<li>Creates A&amp;E scope of work if required and submit Request for Proposal (RFP).</li>
<li>Interacts and collaborates with end users, EIS, FM, Epi, EVS, Art Council, Signage/Wayfinding, Clinical Engineering and entire project team to ensure cohesive design.</li>
<li>Adheres to the overall design process, including review, approvals and sign-offs from Decision Makers, FPDC Leadership and other collaborators as needed.</li>
<li>Ensures that the execution of design is consistent with Cedars-Sinai's level of expectations in terms of quality and function.</li>
