Summary of Responsibilities
 
 
Support the Site Procurement Organization in the execution of local and global strategies. Work with customers/stakeholders and procurement professionals to initiate and implement customer aligned integrated category plan(s). <li>Ensures all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.</li>
<li>Administers PO, rectal and IV contrast per physician orders/department policy and assess patients for potential risk factors prior to the administration of the contrast media required for the imaging procedure.</li>
<li>Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation.</li>
<li>Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement to adjust protocols, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic CT purposes.</li>
<li>Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. Documents patient history in electronic record as required.</li>
<li>Demonstrates proper technique in venipuncture; demonstrates proper use of power injector according to set protocols set by department and/or manufacturer.</li>

ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT registry within 6 months of hire date. CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired. CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT registry within 6 months of hire date.</li>

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Job Overview:
The Patient Coordinator 1 reports to the PET Technologist(s) with whom he/she is staffed. The duties of the Tech Assistant are supervised by the Director of Operations. 
Job Responsibilities and Duties:<ul><li>
Greeting, transporting and screening patients in preparation for exam; assisting patient transfer to and from mobile coach, on and off scan table and dismissal upon exam completion</li><li>
Obtains accurate patient history and explains total exam process to patient; as directed, assists in administering preliminary and post exam instruction and answering questions related to the exam procedure</li><li>
As directed by technologist, interacts with site staff to obtain paperwork and supplies as needed. Additionally, may be asked to deliver paperwork to radiologist and/or admin staff post scan to ensure timely availability.</li><li>
As directed by technologist, assist with obtaining blood glucose level and set an IV</li><li>
As directed, assists the Technologist with data entry for patient data sheet, nuclear medicine record keeping, end of day reports and supply ordering. o Interaction with registration clerks, directors and radiologists as needed for effective communication.</li><li>
Submission of paperwork to client as indicated</li><li>
Cleans unit and prepares for transport as directed</li><li>
Other required duties as assigned by the Technologist and/or Director of Operations</li></ul> 
Job Requirements Skills Education:<ul><li>
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required</li><li>
Recommended 6 months-1 year of related experience and/or training in a clinical setting; phlebotomy experience preferred</li><li>
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification and other qualifications as may be required (may be obtained at time of employment)</li></ul> 
Physical and Intellectual Requirements:
Manual dexterity for manipulating small items; regularly lift at least 50 pounds throughout each shift and to be able to lift 75 pounds on occasion. Able to handle standing, walking and sitting for 4+ hours with limited rest intervals; good eye-hand coordination; fair eyesight (with or without correction lenses); normal hearing in at least one ear (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz); ability to analyze situations, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; effective organizational skills; a commitment to continuous learning; an ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
