<p>
The primary function of the Assistant, WASH (Hygiene Promotion) is to ensure the delivery of the WASH Hygiene promotion and community mobilization activities in the coordination and guidance of the Senior Officer WASH or WASH Manager or WASH Coordinator.</p>
<p>
Responsible for participating in hygiene campaigns, house-to-house hygiene promotion, preparing written material for the field, elaborating clear and adapted messages/activities for beneficiaries, and overseeing the hygiene promotion and other WASH activities conducted by the community volunteers.<br>
The role supports the concept papers and proposals for interventions and provides data required in close cooperation with the team. <ul><li>Deliver the implementation of the aims and objectives of the WASH response program in line with the WASH Coordinator or Manager's WASH guidance and WASH strategy.</li><li>Support the development of concept papers, letters of intent, proposals, and budgets for assigned WASH areas.</li><li>In collaboration with other actors, deliver a suitable hygiene promotion program that suits the local context (communities, health facilities, camps, and Schools), and would be widely accepted by beneficiaries.</li><li>Mobilize the community on behavior change related to hygiene practices and identify the most appropriate messages regarding the target population.</li><li>Actively participate with community volunteers in identifying locations/sites for WASH infrastructures (latrines construction/rehabilitation, borehole drilling/rehabilitation, etc.) in the beneficiary communities and coordinate closely with CHVs to identify informal settlements in host communities.</li><li>Conduct focus group discussions, giving clear messages on good hygiene practices.</li><li>Organize training sessions and participate in facilitation in health facilities, IDP camps, Schools, and host communities and determine the necessary materials needed for each campaign/activity.</li><li>Conduct the selection and training of the Community Hygiene Volunteer (CHV) promoters and collect data for both CHV beneficiaries in communities.</li><li>Input beneficiaries' data into a spreadsheet to distribute NFI kits in communities and oversee the distribution of water, hygiene, and sanitation items.</li><li>Train and monitor CHVs on conducting hygiene promotion sessions and correctly completing their log sheets, documenting topics discussed, the advice provided, issues of concern for IMC follow-up action, and the number of attendees' sessions.</li><li>Collect all CHVs' log sheets monthly and certify work done by CHVs. Report the progress of the work to the supervisor.</li><li>Participate in hygiene campaigns and drama shows in schools, community and IDP camps in close coordination with community volunteers.</li><li>Facilitate in documenting health related data and keep records on activities of hygiene promotion.</li><li>Report challenges and successes during the activities and any other issues that require IMC follow-up/action.</li><li>If assigned, collect water samples from households and water sources and conduct quality tests using the Del Aqua Kit Record all results of the water test.</li><li>Complete daily reports on CHV's evaluation, water testing and NFI distribution.</li><li>Consult with M &amp; E to provide accurate raw data for impact analysis during post distribution survey and to provide input for monthly and quarterly WASH reports and prepare monthly progress reports according to donor standards and templates, internal reports, and MEAL reports for concerned sectors.</li><li>Timely reporting of Hygiene Promotion activities to the supervisor/WASH Officer</li></ul></div>

Job Description</b><p><b><br>
Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily hygiene operations across all departments.</p></li><li><p>
Ensure the effective implementation of cleaning schedules and sanitation programs.</p></li><li><p>
Conduct routine hygiene audits and inspections to assess cleanliness, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.</p></li><li><p>
Monitor the use and storage of cleaning chemicals and ensure safety protocols are followed.</p></li><li><p>
Support in staff training and awareness on hygiene and sanitation practices.</p></li><li><p>
Work closely with production/operations teams to minimize contamination risks.</p></li><li><p>
Ensure hygiene records and documentation are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.</p></li><li><p>
Assist in investigations related to hygiene non-conformance or complaints.</p></li><li><p>
Supervise hygiene staff and coordinate with external cleaning contractors when necessary.</p></li><li><p>
Assist in preparing for internal and external audits.</p></li><li><p>
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in hygiene standards and processes.</p></li></ul><b><br>
Qualifications</b><p><b><br>
Qualifications &amp; Experience:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Diploma or degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Environmental Health, Hospitality, or related field (preferred).</p></li><li><p>
Minimum 2&ndash;3 years&rsquo; experience in a hygiene/sanitation role, preferably in food, hospitality, or healthcare industry.</p></li><li><p>
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations (or industry-specific hygiene standards).</p></li><li><p>
Supervisory or team leadership experience is an advantage.</p></li></ul></div>
