We are seeking applicants interested in working as a technician in a core facility that provides microcomputed tomography (&micro;CT) and clinical HR-pQCT imaging services. This position will involve imaging and analyzing ex-vivo samples as well as performing imaging on subjects who are participating in clinical studies. The technician will be closely supervised by the core facility manager but also must be able to perform self-directed work.  What You&rsquo;ll Do</b></h3><p>
As a key member of our clinical research team, you will:</p><ul><li><p>
Perform advanced ophthalmic imaging including <b>Fluorescein Angiography, Fundus Photography, Disc Photography</b>, and more</p></li><li><p>
Prepare and educate patients, ensuring comfort, safety, and confidence throughout procedures</p></li><li><p>
Acquire, label, upload, and securely store study images in sponsor databases</p></li><li><p>
Conduct quality control and resolve image-related queries promptly</p></li><li><p>
Train and mentor photographers to maintain protocol and imaging excellence</p></li><li><p>
Collaborate closely with investigators, study coordinators, monitors, and reading centers</p></li><li><p>
Ensure compliance with <b>GCP, SOPs, HIPAA</b>, and sponsor requirements</p></li><li><p>

Position Summary</b></h2>

Under supervision, the Breast Imaging Specialist provides follow-up for the Women's Imaging practice for all recall examinations and breast biopsy procedures. Schedules breast biopsy procedures and recall patient appointments. This position provides information to patients in a professional, accurate, caring, and sensitive manner. Tracks priors comparison addendums. Assists with preparation of all necessary credentialing records, follow-up records and medical audit for annual mammography inspection. Accurately tracks and enters all data into recall spreadsheet, Epic Breast Care Summary and Epic Breast Imaging dashboard.
</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Job Responsibilities</b></h2>
</div><ul><li>Responsible for accurately tracking all Women&rsquo;s Imaging patients that require recall examinations and breast biopsy procedures. Maintains current knowledge of mammography, breast ultrasound, biopsy procedures and practice protocols.
</li><li>Serves as the main point of contact for all recall breast imaging exams and breast biopsy procedures. Explains procedures and schedules all patients recommended for breast biopsies via Epic.
</li><li>Contacts referring physicians, as needed, for prescriptions and to confirm receipt of patient results. Ensures that all required medical information and paperwork is completed prior to procedures.
</li><li>Contacts and schedules a large volume of patients for recall examinations. Maintains and distributes a rolling recall spreadsheet that is submitted to leadership staff on a weekly basis.
</li><li>Accurately tracks and enters all data into Epic Breast Care Summary and Epic Breast Imaging dashboard.
</li><li>Provides information to patients in a professional, caring, and sensitive manner regarding what to expect before, during and after procedures. Ensure the highest standards of customer service is provided to our Women&rsquo;s Imaging patients.
</li><li>Works independently and in collaboration with breast radiologists and the breast consult team to ensure all patient inquiries are addressed.
</li><li>Performs a thorough examination of the Women&rsquo;s Imaging schedule through clinical and priors review. Ensures recall, Bi-Rads 3 and biopsy procedures are scheduled correctly.
</li><li>Accurate and detailed reporting is made to ensure timely communication. Tracks the timely completion of priors comparison addendums by breast radiologists.
</li><li>Reviews and sends lay letters to all Women&rsquo;s Imaging patients.
</li><li>Assists patients with obtaining prior Women&rsquo;s Imaging reports and images performed at outside facilities. Uploads images into Ambra and notifies the medical records team to push images into PACS.
</li><li>Ensures FDA regulations are met within a timely manner - Unresolved Letter issues (30-day requirement) and Missing Pathology (impacts MQSA Inspection).
</li><li>Maintains up to date knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 codes and provides CPT/ICD-10 codes to patients and referring physicians' offices, as needed. Answers basic insurance questions related to mammography.
</li><li>Routes complex insurance questions to our Insurance and Financial Clearance team.
</li><li>Assists with preparation of all necessary credentialing records, follow-up records and medical audit for our annual Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) inspection.
</li><li>Extrapolates data regarding breast biopsy and recall patients as requested by the breast radiologists and leadership team.
</li><li>Maintains confidentiality of patient files in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
</li><li>Complies with Weill Cornell Office of Billing Compliance for billing and research billing compliance audits, etc.
