As a Courier Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting specimens to their designated locations. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy driving and providing exceptional customer service.

Must use Personal Vehicle</li><li>
Willing to complete hours needed to complete routes, local pick up and deliveries.</li><li>
Transport supplies and specimens from one location to another</li><li>
Follow assigned routes and schedules for efficient delivery</li><li>
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations</li><li>
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption</li><li>
Communicate with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery/pick up details</li><li>
Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader">
Experience:</h4><ul><li>
Familiarity with route driving and navigating different locations</li><li>

Independent Contractor Relationship 
Independent contractors operate their own businesses and are responsible for their own taxes, expenses, and insurance. Contractors are compensated per contracted services completed. No employee benefits are provided. 
Scope of Contracted Services 

Service Activities 
<ul>

Transport pharmaceuticals, medical instruments, supplies, mail, documents, and medical specimens (room temperature, refrigerated, and frozen).</li>
<li>Log pick-ups and drop-offs using a secure mobile application to support chain-of-custody requirements.</li></ul> 


Resources Provided

Branded swag for identification at client facilities.</li>
<li>Insulated coolers and specialty transport containers.</li>
<li>Certain delivery equipment required by healthcare clients.</li>
<li>Access to courier certifications required for contracted services.</li></ul> 


Contractor Equipment and Obligations 
<ul>
<li>
Provide and maintain a reliable vehicle and compatible smartphone.</li>
<li>Maintain current driver&rsquo;s license, vehicle registration, and insurance.</li>
<li>Report and pay all applicable taxes and business expenses, including fuel and vehicle maintenance.</li>
<li>Comply with HIPAA and all confidentiality and data-protection requirements.</li></ul> 


Contract Performance Standards

Complete services within agreed-upon pick-up and delivery windows.</li>
<li>Communicate delays, incidents, or service issues through the designated communication channel.</li>
<li>Perform services in a professional and courteous manner consistent with healthcare client expectations.</li>
<li>Perform services free from impairment, in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.</li></ul> 


Operating Environment 
Services are available at various times, including nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather. Work may involve driving, walking, standing, and lifting items up to 50 lbs. 
Contractor Qualifications 
<ul>

Minimum age 21 with at least 3 years of personal-vehicle driving experience.</li>
<li>Familiarity with Charleston area roadways and traffic patterns is a plus.</li>
<li>Clean Motor Vehicle Record and ability to pass background and drug screenings as required by healthcare clients.</li>
<li>Reliable, registered vehicle and smartphone compatible with required applications.</li>
<li>Medical, laboratory, or courier experience is beneficial but not required.</li></ul>
