Position Summary

The Assistant Infant Teacher - OTR works directly alongside our Lead Infant Teacher to provide safe, consistent, and nurturing care for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months at our OTR campus. Key Responsibilities

<li>Support the Lead Teacher in implementing Creative Curriculum routines and individualized infant care plans</li>

<li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organized infant classroom following all Ohio DCY health and sanitation standards</li>
<li>Actively supervise infants at all times during activities, tummy time, rest, meals, and transitions</li>
<li>Assist with daily documentation of infant routines, feedings, and developmental notes using Brightwheel</li>
<li>Communicate warmly and professionally with OTR families during drop-off and pick-up</li>
<li>Prepare classroom materials and assist with room setup and lesson prep under Lead Teacher direction</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, ECE coursework, or Associate degree preferred</li>
<li>Prior experience in a licensed childcare setting with infants strongly preferred</li>
<li>Current CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with children</li>
<li>Genuine warmth, patience, and attentiveness with infants and their families</li>
<li>Ability to work on your feet, lift up to 40 lbs, and perform floor-level caregiving throughout the shift</li>
<li>Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to ratio coverage</li>
<li>Must meet all Ohio DCY employment eligibility requirements including applicable clearances</li>

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT INFANT TEACHER
As a full-time or part-time Assistant Infant Teacher, you are a gentle, caring person who helps our teachers take care of the little ones in our center. You bring a calming presence to our daycare, ensuring all babies are comfortable and happy. Alongside your head teacher and support staff, you develop age-appropriate activities that encourage healthy child development in a safe environment. You provide daily care for our infants and help with activities like eating, face washing, and diaper changing.
Proactively, you identify and remove potential choking hazards or other dangers from the environment in order to keep our kids safe. If a baby starts crying, you compassionately tend to their needs and help relax them. At the end of the day, you help clean the daycare, sanitizing toys and commonly touched surfaces. You feel great about helping care for our families' most important treasures!
