This position will report to the Assistant Director of Coding and Data Quality within the PETS Center and will support faculty and research teams by providing foundational data management, analytic, and reporting support across multiple research projects. The Information Specialist serves as an early-career data analyst, contributing to the preparation, organization, analysis, and validation of research data used in observational, outcomes, pharmacoepidemiologic, and health services research. Among the key duties of the position are the following:</div><ul>

<li>Performs routine and complex data analyses involving complex modeling and advanced use of statistical and analytic tools under the supervision and guidance of senior analysts, the Assistant Director of Coding and Data Quality, and/or faculty using established statistical and analytical methodologies.</li>
<li>Supports data linkages across multiple large scale and complex data sources and contribute to quality control activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of analytic datasets.</li>
<li>Generates tables, figures, methods and results summaries, maps, and visualizations to support research reports, presentations, manuscripts, and grant applications.</li>
<li>Assists in conducting data validation checks, troubleshooting discrepancies, and documenting data processing and analytic workflows.</li>

</div><div>The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC) mission is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.<br>

The Office of Support Services within the Department of Corrections is seeking candidates for an Offender Information Specialist II to perform sentencing calculations in order to determine parole eligibility and release of inmates, this position will also maintain various offender inmate records.<br>
<br>
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Calculates terms of imprisonment to ensure that inmates have served the length of time required and issuing any credits to their sentences, release dates, jail time, parole eligibility and good time adjustments.
</li><li>Audits accuracy of terms of imprisonment.
</li><li>Review inmate records for transfers.
</li><li>Enters data regarding terms of imprisonment into the Kentucky Offender Management System and maintains the status of active and inactive probationers.
</li><li>Serves as liaison for institutional staff.
</li><li>Provide verbal and written information regarding the status of prisoners to officials and the public.
</li><li>Furnishes records information to administrative staff, the Parole Board and Courts.
</li><li>Prepares inmate furloughs, transfers, conditional release and parole lists.
</li><li>Answers telephone inquiries from Probation and Parole Offices for information regarding inmate's sentences and release dates for the Pre- Sentence Investigation.
</li><li>Respond to requests for information according to open records statutes.
</li><li>Implement all functions associated with receiving and discharging inmates to and from the Department of Corrections.
</li><li>Communicate with courts, county and state agencies, general public, inmates, institution staff, regarding inmates official record.
</li><li>Interpret, adhere to and enforce all rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to inmate records.</li></ul>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b></h1><ul><li>
Serve as the first-line support resource for clinical information system help desk tickets, troubleshooting, and user assistance.</li><li>
Triage, investigate, and resolve routine clinical application issues, escalating complex or unresolved issues to the Clinical Information Specialist II and/or Director.</li><li>
Provide direct user support for clinical documentation workflows, system navigation, and daily operational needs.</li><li>
Manage user onboarding, role-based access, security permissions, and termination processes for clinical applications in accordance with staffing models and governance standards.</li><li>
Maintain accurate documentation of user access, system changes, and issue resolution activities to support audit and compliance requirements.</li><li>
Assist with routine system maintenance, configuration updates, testing, and validation activities for clinical applications.</li><li>
Support clinical system implementations, upgrades, and go-live activities through testing, training, and at-the-elbow support.</li><li>
Assist with development and maintenance job aids, workflow guides, and training materials to support end users.</li><li>
Collaborate closely with IT, Security &amp; Privacy, Compliance, Clinical Information Services, and vendor partners to resolve issues and improve system performance.</li><li>
Monitor common issues and trends to proactively identify opportunities for workflow improvement, training, and system optimization.</li><li>
Follow enterprise governance, privacy, security, and compliance standards in all system and data activities.</li><li>
Participate in enterprise committees, project teams, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.</li><li>
Engage in ongoing learning to expand knowledge of clinical workflows, healthcare regulations, and informatics technologies.</li><li>
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and servant leadership.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational success.</li><li>
