</b></h2><div><p>The Clerk&rsquo;s Office of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey is seeking a motivated, independent thinker/worker as well as a customer-oriented and team-focused individual for a full-time Information Technology Technician position. The technician is a member of the IT department and is under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology and the local Systems Supervisor. The technician will perform professional work related to providing routine support for end users and provide technical support for moderately complex troubleshooting for hardware and software systems. The position will, as part of a team, support approximately 535 desktop/laptop systems and 85 mobile devices used by 300 court personnel, including judges.
</p><p><b>Note: </b>Weekly travel to the Trenton office is required in coordination with the technical team. Additional travel to other divisional offices may be required as needed. At times, travel or on-site coverage may not be necessary. Depending on project requirements, coverage needs, and the needs of the court, extended time at a specific office may be required. Travel mileage and tolls will be reimbursed in accordance with Judiciary travel regulations.
</p><p><b>Representative Duties
</b></p><ul><li>Performs tasks such as PC management and helpdesk support, including but not limited to receiving and responding to end-user requests, installing, and repairing hardware and software, onboarding of new users, desktop imaging, performing end-user support and training, litigation support, assisting in implementing automation plans, maintaining documentation, maintaining local IT inventory, aiding with network administration, all in accordance with court IT security policies and procedures.
</li><li>Responds to help desk calls and e-mails, log computer problems in KACE ticket system, and assist with routine problems. Provides assistance and support to end users on applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Adobe and court-specific applications. Assists with creating user accounts and providing end-user training.
</li><li>Installs or assists in the installation of new software and software upgrades. Sets up, configures, installs, and documents hardware and software.
</li><li>Performs routine and scheduled maintenance, including testing equipment to ensure all systems are operating correctly. Monitors user concerns to ensure satisfactory experiences.
</li><li>Maintains contact with other IT team members at different levels and locations for the purpose of keeping abreast of developments, techniques, and user programs.
</li><li>Ensures inventory changes are reported to the Custodial Officer.
</li><li>Works in a demanding environment and travels to other divisional offices is required.
</li><li>Assists with AV and courtroom technology, sets up video conferencing, audio visual equipment, courtroom sound, evidence presentation equipment, streaming media, and recording.

</b></h2><div><p>To qualify for the position of Information Technology Technician, a candidate must:

</li></ul><ul><li>To qualify for the CL 25 - CL 26 level, at least one year of specialized experience is required. To qualify for the CL 27 level, at least three years of specialized experience is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>
Routine desktop, laptop, and virtual software maintenance to ensure consistency of the computing environment, peak performance, safe computing, and regulatory compliance. Proactive recognition and response to emerging desktop software security threats and mitigation of software compatibility issues introduced by application updates.</li><li>
Provision of technical support for staff throughout the organization, utilizing a combination of local hands-on troubleshooting and remote desktop assistance. Field incoming technical help requests via telephone, email, and ticket system to ensure courteous, timely and effective resolution of end user issues. Workflow includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests and escalating incidents as necessary.</li><li>
Physical setup, configuration, routine maintenance, and deployment of end user equipment, including desktops, laptops, carts, phones, printers, and accessories.</li><li>
Identify and resolve or repair issues with desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and other IT equipment, or refer to service personnel. Test fixes to ensure the problem has been adequately resolved.</li><li>
Assist with maintenance of IT department inventory logs. Preparation of asset disposal records, equipment tagging and reconciliation of active and non-production inventory.</li><li>
Develop help sheets and FAQ lists for end users. Contribute to intranet training and information services resources; assist staff with access to extranet training resources.</li><li>
Assist in the development of policies and procedures for the use of technology.</li><li>
Support and assist CHCFC Quality Management team by providing data and reports for quality improvement initiatives; training and support for use of clinical informatics dashboards; assistance with quality measure validation.</li><li>
Department liaison for copier / printer supplies, page counts, and support tickets.</li><li>
Department coverage for user authentication, access configuration, and group membership for production systems and applications.</li><li>
Creation of new employee accounts. Facilitates and provides basic IT orientation for new employees.</li><li>
Provision of telehealth technical support; assist patients with access and use of health center online portals, and mobile technology assigned to patients.</li><li>
