Summary</p>
<p>
The Infrastructure &amp; Workplace Manager is a key member of the Technology and Change leadership group. The role is responsible for the reliable operation, security and continuous improvement of mainly cloud-based infrastructure, telephony and workplace technologies across the business. Working within a modern cloud-first environment, you will ensure that the platforms and tools underpinning the day-to-day work of your 200 colleagues - the majority of which operate within a fast-paced call centre &ndash; are secure, productive and well supported.</p><br>

You will lead a small team, directing their work to deliver an effective internal helpdesk service and maintain the highest standards of platform security and governance. The role sits across infrastructure, security, and end-user support, requiring both technical depth and the people management skills to develop a high-performing team.</p><br>

As the business operates with limited on-premise infrastructure, all critical services are delivered from the cloud. You will own the security posture of hosting and cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and AWS), working collaboratively with the Data &amp; Insights Manager and the Application Development Manager whose teams use those platforms, and will serve as the primary escalation point and technology partner for workplace and infrastructure matters across the business.</p>

Responsibilities</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of Infrastructure Engineer and Support Analysts, providing clear direction, regular one-to-ones, and ongoing development by identify training needs and growth opportunities.</li>
<li>Set team priorities, manage workloads, and ensure the team operates effectively across both reactive helpdesk support and proactive infrastructure tasks.</li>
<li>Foster a collaborative, customer-focused team culture with high standards of communication and service delivery.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other leaders in the Technology and Change area to define and deliver our technology roadmap.</li>

<li>Oversee the full lifecycle of all end-user devices (including mobile) across the business, including Windows workstations and Apple MacBooks, from procurement and configuration through to decommissioning.</li>
<li>Manage device provisioning and configuration using Microsoft Autopilot and Intune, ensuring all devices are enrolled, patched, and policy-compliant.</li>
<li>Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and related productivity services, ensuring availability and appropriate configuration.</li>
<li>Manage identity, access, and network security through Microsoft Entra, ensuring robust access controls, conditional access policies, and secure authentication are in place across the organisation.</li>
<li>Administer Microsoft Purview to support data governance, compliance, and information protection requirements, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure policies are appropriate and enforced.</li>
<li>Manage the onboarding and offboarding process from a technology perspective, ensuring timely and accurate provisioning and de-provisioning of access and equipment.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with the Data &amp; Insights Manager and Application Development Manager to ensure consistent security standards, smooth cross-team escalation, and aligned IT governance.</li>
<li>Implement and maintain cloud security best practices across Azure and AWS, including identity and access management (IAM), role-based access controls (RBAC), network security groups, logging, alerting, and patch management.</li>
<li>Conduct regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments across cloud platforms and SaaS solutions, ensuring timely identification and remediation of risks.</li>
<li>Monitor security events and alerts, leading the response to security incidents and maintaining a clear audit trail.</li>
<li>Ensure the organisation's cloud and SaaS platforms remain compliant with UK GDPR, Cyber Essentials, and other applicable frameworks and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Act as the IT owner for the NICE CXone (mPower) CCaaS telephony platform, coordinating with the reseller and internal stakeholders to maintain availability, performance, and appropriate configuration for the call centre environment.</li>
<li>Manage key Infrastructure vendor relationships, including contract oversight, service reviews, and escalations, ensuring suppliers deliver in line with agreed SLAs and terms.</li>
<li>Work closely with the Project Manager to plan, prioritise, and deliver infrastructure and workplace technology projects, providing accurate estimates, managing dependencies, and ensuring project commitments are met without compromising business-as-usual service delivery.</li>
<li>Maintain up-to-date IT policies, standards, and documentation, ensuring these are communicated effectively and consistently applied.</li>
<li>Develop, maintain, and test IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring resilience across all critical infrastructure and workplace services.</li>
<li>Contribute and maintain the IT risk register, proactively managing and mitigating risks to service availability, data integrity, and information security.</li>

<p>
Skills and Experience</p>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience in an infrastructure management, IT management, or IT operations role, ideally within a service-oriented or contact centre business.</li>
<li>Experience managing or leading a small technical team, with demonstrable people management and development skills.</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Defender, and Autopilot.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra (Azure Active Directory / Entra ID), including conditional access, identity governance, and network access policies.</li>
<li>Proven experience managing Microsoft Azure from a security and governance perspective.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of AWS security, including IAM, security groups, logging, and compliance controls is advantageous.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Purview or comparable data governance and compliance tooling.</li>
<li>Experience managing or overseeing a helpdesk or IT support function, with a strong focus on triage quality, SLA management, and user experience.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of cloud security principles, including vulnerability management, identity security, and incident response in a fully cloud-hosted environment.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both technical colleagues and non-technical stakeholders.</li>

<li>Familiarity or experience of CCaaS telephony platforms, with NiCE CXone preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Apple macOS device management within a predominantly Windows environment would be beneficial but not essential.</li>

What qualifications, knowledge and experience is required for an </b><b>IT Infrastructure &amp; Security Manager?</b></p><ul><li>
5+ years in infrastructure and/or network management.</li><li>
Proven experience managing enterprise IT solutions.</li><li>
Expertise in technologies including WAN/LAN/WLAN, Cloud, Identity and Access Management, Servers, hosting/virtualization, and End User Computing including build, deployment and endpoint management.</li><li>
Proven experience working to ITIL best practices.</li><li>
Proven experience in people leadership, performance and development management.</li><li>

Job Description:</b></p><p><b>
Position Summary</b></p><p>
The Handover Manager is responsible for managing the transition of major utility assets from construction and commissioning into operations. This role ensures that all handover requirements related to quality, environmental compliance, and sustainability commitments are fully met, properly evidenced, and accepted by the client and operations teams.</p><p>
Working across multi-disciplinary project teams, the Handover Manager oversees the close-out process, coordinates documentation and certifications, and ensures the receiving Operations &amp; Maintenance O&amp;M teams have the information, training, and records needed to operate assets safely, compliantly, and sustainably.</p><div></div><p><b>
Key Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>
1. Handover Planning &amp; Coordination</b></p><ul><li>
Develop and maintain the project Handover Management Plan, aligned with utilities&rsquo; standards and regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Define handover scope, milestones, and acceptance criteria for quality, environmental, and sustainability deliverables.</li><li>
Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, HSE, Environmental, and O&amp;M teams to align handover expectations.</li><li>
Plan and manage readiness reviews, pre-handover audits, and final acceptance activities.</li></ul><p><b>
2. Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)</b></p><ul><li>
Ensure all QA/QC requirements are met prior to handover.</li><li>
Verify that installed assets match approved drawings, specifications, and equipment data sheets.</li><li>
Support or lead final quality and system walkdowns with client, independent certifiers, and regulators where required.</li></ul><p><b>
3. Environmental Compliance</b></p><ul><li>
Ensure all project environmental obligations and permit conditions are met and documented at handover.</li><li>
Confirm as-built environmental controls are in place and functioning.</li><li>
Coordinate final environmental inspections and audits with regulatory authorities and client representatives.</li><li>
Ensure environmental risks and residual obligations are clearly communicated to O&amp;M teams.</li></ul><p><b>
4. Sustainability &amp; ESG Deliverables</b></p><ul><li>
Verify achievement and documentation of project sustainability objectives and commitments.</li><li>
Coordinate evidence collection for sustainability certifications where applicable.</li><li>
Ensure operations teams receive sustainability-related performance baselines, models, and guidance for ongoing performance.</li><li>
Support preparation of as-built carbon and sustainability performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.</li></ul><p><b>
5. Documentation &amp; Information Management</b></p><ul><li>
Lead compilation, review, and submission of all handover documentation.</li><li>
Ensure documentation meets client, regulatory, and corporate standards, and is structured for integration into asset management systems.</li><li>
Work with document control and digital teams to ensure handover packages are complete, consistent, and traceable.</li></ul><p><b>
6. Interface with Operations &amp; Stakeholders</b></p><ul><li>
Act as primary point of contact for Operations during the handover phase, clarifying requirements and acceptance criteria.</li><li>
Organize and track training for O&amp;M staff on new systems, equipment, and environmental/sustainability obligations.</li><li>
Facilitate resolution of outstanding issues, defects, or documentation gaps that could impede asset acceptance or regulatory compliance.</li><li>
Present handover status updates, risks, and readiness assessments to project leadership and client representatives.</li></ul><div></div><p><b>
Qualifications</b></p><p><b>
Education</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental), Construction Management, Environmental Science, or related discipline preferred.</li><li>
Equivalent combination of education and relevant utilities experience will be considered.</li></ul><p><b>
Experience</b></p><ul><li>
10 years of experience in utilities or infrastructure projects (electric T&amp;D, substations, pipelines, treatment plants, pumping stations, networks).</li><li>
Demonstrated experience in project close-out, commissioning, or handover roles.</li><li>
Strong background in QA/QC and environmental compliance on construction or capital projects.</li><li>
Experience with sustainability frameworks or rating systems on infrastructure or utility projects is highly desirable.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities</b></p><ul><li>
Strong understanding of the utilities project lifecycle from design to commissioning and handover.</li><li>
Knowledge of QA/QC practices, inspection regimes, and test requirements for utility assets and systems.</li><li>
Familiarity with environmental legislation, permitting, and monitoring requirements relevant to utilities.</li><li>
Understanding of sustainability principles and metrics in infrastructure (energy, carbon, water, materials, resilience).</li><li>
Excellent organizational and coordination skills; able to manage large volumes of documentation and multiple interfaces.</li><li>
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including facilitation of reviews and negotiations at handover.</li><li>
Proficiency with common project tools document management systems; experience with BIM, GIS, or EAM systems is beneficial.</li><li>
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under time pressure to meet regulatory and contractual deadlines.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Key Performance Indicators</b></p><ul><li>
Completeness and quality of handover documentation at the agreed handover dates.</li><li>
Number and severity of open snags/defects at practical completion and final acceptance.</li><li>
Compliance with environmental permit conditions and absence of post-handover non-compliances.</li><li>
Achievement and verification of sustainability targets and certifications.</li><li>
Operations team satisfaction with the quality of handover and readiness of assets.</li></ul><p></p>
