<div><div>Purpose Statement</div>
Home infusion therapy (HIT) is a method of administering infusion therapy directly in a patient's home as well as in other settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. The versatility of HIT provides patients with more autonomy over their care.
The role of a Home Infusion RN involves delivering excellent patient care. This specialized position caters to adult patients, providing them with the necessary treatment. As a Home Infusion RN, your primary responsibility is infusion therapy involving a variety of treatments including but not limited to IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacement, clotting factor, and other agents using various methods of administration. This job requires a blend of clinical expertise and compassionate care.
This position reports to the Area Director of Infusion Services.
Required Education and Experience<ul><li>
Current and valid RN license.</li><li>
A minimum of 3 years nursing experience is required.</li><li>
Excellent IV skills and a passion for working with patients.</li><li>
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.</li><li>
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a home care setting.</li><li>
Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.</li><li>
Candidates must have excellent IV skills and enjoy working with patients.</li><li>
Successful candidates will likely develop a steady caseload of grateful and satisfied patients.</li><li>
Previous experience in critical care areas preferred.</li><li>
Minimum of 1 year in hospital infusion therapy, home infusion therapy preferred.</li><li>
Certification in infusion therapy (CRNI) is a plus.</li><li>

Administer infusion therapies, including IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacement, and clotting factor, following physician orders and established protocols.</li><li>
Assess and monitor patients during infusion therapy to ensure safety and efficacy.</li><li>
Educate patients and their families on infusion therapy procedures, potential side effects, and self-care practices.</li><li>
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.</li><li>
Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including physical and psychosocial factors, to tailor care to individual needs.</li><li>
Document patient care activities, treatment plans, and outcomes promptly and accurately.</li><li>
Participate in continuous professional development to stay abreast of industry trends, guidelines, and best practices.</li><li>

<div>Infusion Therapy requires inter-professional collaboration among all clinicians who prescribe, dispense, and administer a wide variety of solutions, medications, nutrition, and blood components. The scope of services provided by the infusion team/vascular access team (VAT) is structured to meet patient and organizational needs for safe delivery/administration of quality infusion therapy.

Registered Nurses working in the Infusion Center will provide care for patients in our Roosevelt Cancer Care and Infusion Center and our Vernal location, as needed. The Infusion Center Nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordinator of competent, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will participate in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency. 
The position exists to manage clinical outcomes, cost, and customer satisfaction in the daily care assignment and the operations of the Roosevelt and Vernal Center as needed. The clinician assures care for patients and families reflective of the organization's values. This position coordinates the nursing and interdisciplinary team for daily patient care assignments.
