 We are seeking a versatile and service-oriented Instruction and Reference Librarian to join our collaborative library team. The successful candidate will partner with library faculty and staff, university subject faculty, and student support offices to anticipate and serve student needs. In addition to instruction and reference responsibilities, this position contributes to liaison activities with an assigned academic school (Arts and Sciences; Business and Economics; Education, Health and Human Services), including course-integrated instruction, collection development, and research support. </p><p>The Information Literacy &amp; AI Librarian supports the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into information literacy instruction, research support, and student learning initiatives.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</div><div>
Instructional &amp; Faculty Support</div><ul><li>
Visits classes to teach information literacy and research using activity-based learning and evidence-informed pedagogical strategies</li><li>
Leads workshops and participates in new student orientations and college programs. Guides learners in developing critical thinking and information literacy skills, including identifying, locating, evaluating, and effectively using information across diverse formats</li><li>
Designs and implements instructional tutorials and materials, continuously integrating best practices in teaching and information literacy</li><li>
Partners with faculty as an information literacy subject-matter expert to design instruction aligned with course curricula, research assignments, and student readiness</li><li>
Consults on the development of pedagogically sound library research assignments</li><li>
Provides library instruction at off-campus sites</li><li>
Manages a designated section of the library collection, including selecting, evaluating, and weeding print and electronic resources, and overseeing the associated budget to ensure alignment with instructional and curricular needs</li></ul><div>

The Town of Plainville is currently seeking a <b>substitute</b> part-time adult services/reference librarian for the Plainville Public Library. This is a substitute, on-call position with no set schedule; hours will be assigned as needed based on operational demands.Rate of pay is $27.81 per hour. Sick leave is provided consistent with State of Connecticut Regulations, but there are no other benefits associated with this position. This is not a union-eligible post.</div><div></div><div><br>
