<div>Kreft Primary is currently seeking a Part-Time Elementary Libary Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. 
E.A. Kreft Primary School serves approximately 500 students in grades PreK through 1st. Our building houses over 35 instructional staff who work together to meet the diverse needs of our student body. Applicants for this position must currently hold or be able to obtain an Iowa teaching license with the appropriate endorsement through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners no later than August 2026.

Job Summary: 
Under the general supervision of the building administrators, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district approved curriculum (following the Iowa Teaching Standards for subject listed above), documenting student progress and outcomes, addressing specific educational needs of individual students and creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment. Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals. This position will also collaborate with building staff including other teachers, support staff, administration and district support staff to carry out our mission of inspiring excellence. 
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college or university in Education</li><li>
License issued by Iowa BoEE with acceptable endorsement(s) for subject matter listed above</li></ul>
Essential Functions and Knowledge Required<ul><li>
Develops and administers curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.</li><li>
Creates a welcoming and engaging learning environment for all students.</li><li>
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning.</li><li>
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences.</li><li>
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.</li><li>
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by actively taking part in professional learning communities and other opportunities.</li><li>
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.</li><li>
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.</li><li>
Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.</li><li>
Coordinates with other building professional staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum and participates in faculty meetings and committees.</li><li>
Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.</li><li>
Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation and lunch.</li><li>
Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.</li><li>
Performs other duties, as assigned.</li><li>

Role Mission: IDEA Academy teachers are responsible for ensuring that every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college, while also embodying IDEA&rsquo;s values daily. 
IDEA Academy teachers set ambitious goals for student achievement and invest students and families in accomplishing them; create a powerful learning environment; plan and deliver purposeful, rigorous instruction; assess for mastery and track student progress toward goals; analyze data to intervene and adjust instruction; and seek excellence as an educator and an IDEA team member. Academy core subjects are state assessed in grades 3rd, 4th, 5th grades.

Compensation:
<ul><li>The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $59,500. This role is eligible for various stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500-$4,000 each. We also offer additional performance-based compensation. Additional hourly compensation is provided for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.</li></ul>

What You Bring - Competencies 
Qualifications:<ul><li>
High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred)</li><li>
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)</li><li>
Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
</li><li>Licenses or Certifications:<ul><li>
Teachers of record for students in K-3 must possess appropriate Reading Academies certification in accordance with TEA requirements or must be willing and able to obtain all relevant TX training within required timelines.</li><li>
Bilingual certification strongly preferred, content and ESL certification preferred (not required)</li></ul></li></ul>

What You&rsquo;ll Do - Accountabilities 
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
</li><li>Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback</li><li>
Implement formal and informal assessments to track each individual student&rsquo;s progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update gradebook weekly</li><li>
Communicate students&rsquo; progress with student and family on a weekly basis</li><li>
Effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work related tasks.</li><li>
Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus- wide initiatives while developing students&rsquo; character and sense of community in the classroom</li><li>
Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student</li><li>
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify.

Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school wide meetings and functions</li><li>
