<ul><li>Collaborates with principal and staff to establish a workable class schedule which insofar as possible accommodates the needs of each building.</li></ul>
<ul><li>In addition to the established district method, selects and uses planned sequences of instruction for the development of string technique and music reading.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintains and submits upon request accurate computer-generated records on enrollment, attendance, instrumentation and inventory.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Demonstrates correct techniques for assembly, care and maintenance of student instruments.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Communicates with parents regularly to encourage and promote student progress, regular practice, attendance and any needed information regarding the playing condition of the student&rsquo;s string instrument.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Conducts rehearsals and performances demonstrating understanding of differences in style among various types of music.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Presents performances of high musical quality in which groups are musically prepared, well-disciplined and make a good appearance.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Selects and requisitions required music, instruments, equipment, and supplies within budgetary constraints.</li></ul>

<div><p>To provide instruction in general music techniques, Grades K through 4.</p><br>
</div><br>
<div><div>DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</div>
</div><br>
<div><div><div><ul><li>Teach general music classes in grades K through 4.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Participate in required activities for the year will include, including District Elementary Music Festival.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Conduct concert programs in the Fall and Spring semesters.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ensure the organizational requirements of the program are fulfilled.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Regular attendance.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintain confidentiality.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
</div><p><b>ASSIGNMENTS TO VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION:</b></p>
<div><ul><li>Seamlessly integrate District-approved online learning platforms and required software into the planning, delivery, and support of virtual instruction.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Plan, prepare, implement, and evaluate lessons and activities during the standard work hours of the campus at which the teacher is assigned, as well as prolonged or irregular hours.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Be able to communicate with students, parents, and campus and District personnel during the standard work hours of the campus at which the teacher is assigned, as well as prolonged or irregular hours.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Adhere to all professional responsibilities and deadlines including professional communication and responsiveness.
</li></ul><ul><li>Be flexible, responsive, and positive with students, parents, and staff.
</li></ul><ul><li>Effectively translate CISD Best Practices into the virtual instructional setting.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Regularly attend and apply District-approved professional development in the most up-to-date practices associated with virtual instruction.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Accurately and timely obtain and report required student data, including attendance, grades, etc.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Dress professionally as you would if you were offering instruction to students in a traditional, in-person setting.
</li></ul><ul><li>Teach and interact with students from a quiet space, free from distraction, where appropriate confidentiality rules can be followed.
</li></ul><ul><li>Create a virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
</li></ul><ul><li>Provide small group and tutoring opportunities for students who are experiencing difficulty in their learning.
</li></ul><ul><li>Support any extracurricular activities for which you are responsible according to District guidelines.
</li></ul><ul><li>Attend all required campus and District meetings.

<div><div>EXPERIENCE:</div></div><br>

<li>Proficiency in all areas of vocal music- vocal styles, choral techniques, and sight-reading</li><br>
<li>
Extensive experience in solo work as well as in small and large ensemble performance situations</li></ul><br>

<div><div>QUALIFICATIONS:</div><br>
</div><br>
<div><div><p><b>Education/Certification:</b></p>
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited university</li>
<li>Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned</li>
</ul><p><b>Special Knowledge/Skills:</b></p>
<ul><li>Adequate keyboard skills and instrumental skills</li>
<li>Orff-Kodaly training and/or certification</li>
