Property &amp; Liability Claims RepresentativeWhat you&rsquo;ll be doingAs a Claims Representative at Rhode Island Interlocal Risk Management Trust, you will play a key role in protecting public sector Member entities by managing all aspects of Automobile Liability, General Liability and Property damage claims brought by Insured Members. Your responsibility will begin from the initial notification of a claim through its investigation and potential settlement, if so warranted. Reporting to the Claims Manager, you will collaborate with Member representatives, legal counsel, claimants, other insurance companies, and experts to ensure fair, timely, and well-documented claim resolutions. </li><li>Documenting claims files and properly coding claim activity. Preparing detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations.
</li><li>Administering claim benefits i.e., indemnity and medical benefits, through maintenance of calendared claim-related action items, ensuring state compliance.
</li><li>Participating in virtual and/or in-person meetings, claim reviews and business functions as needed for educational training, claim discussions and various meetings.

The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Claim Representative to join our Accident and Health team based in our Plymouth, MN and Denver, CO office or remotely nationwide. Some of the Senior Claim Representative responsibilities include but are not limited to:
<ul>
<li>Makes timely and appropriate contacts, determines and completes appropriate level of investigation to make determination of coverage, assess liability and determine damages. Takes a recorded statement from all parties involved in the claim when appropriate for the type of claim being handled.</li>
<li>Determines exposure, establishes adequate reserves and makes timely adjustments as required.</li>
<li>Assigns and directs activities of internal and external resources as required; including independent adjusters and appraisers. Determines whether additional evidence is required including but not limited to accident reports, accident scene reconstructions, witness statements, police reports, expert opinion, etc. Identifies questionable claims and consults with SIU for further direction as appropriate.</li>
<li>Determines settlement value of the loss and negotiates proper settlement of claims within authority. Provides recommendations for settlement and disposition of claims exceeding authority level.</li>
<li>Stays abreast of state license requirements and participates in continuing education as required.</li>
</ul>
The expertise you bring
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent experience required.</li>
<li>Minimum 2-6 years of progressively complex specialty claims experience.
<ul><li>UIM and UM experience desired.</li>
<li>PIP or MedPay experience desired.</li>
<li>Bodily Injury Claim Resolution.</li>
</ul>
</li></ul>Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $70,000 - $88,000 based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Washington DC; our Massachusetts based offices and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $88,000 - $92,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
