The Director role addresses the operational gap created by the departure of the Director of Undergraduate Interior Architecture in May 2025. The School of Interior Architecture &amp; Design oversees CIDA-accredited BIA, MIA, OMIA, and Continuing Education programs, serving approximately 100 students with one full-time faculty Dean and a team of adjuncts.

The Director provides operational leadership and administrative support for the School&rsquo;s CIDA-accredited programs and teaches two courses per semester. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill requirements of the district&rsquo;s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required</li><li>
Establish a system of students&rsquo; evaluation within the guidelines prescribed in state law or adopted by the school district</li><li>
Continually evaluate and record various aspects of students&rsquo; progress and report to parents as needed and required</li><li>
Teach within the course of study for the subject area at the grade level as prescribed in state law or adopted by the school district</li><li>
Provide a variety of planned learning experiences using a variety of media and methods to motivate students and best utilize available time for instruction</li><li>
Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students resolve health, attitude, and learning problems</li><li>
Share the responsibility of interpreting the educational programs to the community through such activities as open house and PTA meetings</li><li>
Participate cooperatively with the principal to develop the system by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with the district&rsquo;s uniform guidelines for evaluation and assessment</li><li>

Qualifications<br>

Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited university; or an associate&rsquo;s degree for some CTE trade areas with work-appropriate experience in the field, as designated by the Texas Education Agency</li><li>
Valid CTE Texas teaching certification with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned: Secondary Industrial Arts, Grades 6-12; Secondary Industrial Technology, Grades 6-12; Technology Education, Grades 6-12; or Trade and Industrial Education</li><li>
Verifiable professional experience in the Career and Technical Education field may be used in lieu of a valid Texas teacher certificate</li><li>
Have completed, or be willing to complete, the Instructor Certification Training Program led by an NCCER Master Trainer</li><li>
Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction</li><li>
Demonstrated knowledge of various routine teaching tasks, duties, and procedures, and the ability to follow specific instructions with little or no previous experience</li><li>
Present CTE subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustees policies, and administrative regulations</li><li>
Structure a physical classroom conducive to learning</li><li>

The School intends to hire up to two (2) qualified architecture faculty members. The core mission of the School of Architecture and Interior Design is to prepare students for critical engagement with practice. The program promotes leadership, collaboration, intellectual depth, flexibility, and teamwork. The foundation of our education at UC remains a liberal arts education, which provides a broad basis for understanding the role of architecture within a cultural and historical context; and a professional curriculum that is enriched with elective seminars, lectures and design studios that provide opportunities to engage in travel/study programs, experimental projects, and service-learning. Students alternate these more traditional academic experiences with periods of professional experience through our landmark cooperative education program (co-op).</p><p></p><p><br>
The School of Architecture and Interior Design (SAID) confers an accredited professional degree in Interior Design (BSID); an accredited first professional graduate degree in Architecture (M Arch); an undergraduate degree in Architecture (BS Arch); a post-professional degree (MS Arch); a Master in Urban Design (MUD); and a Ph.D. degree in architecture. There are approximately 110 Masters of Architecture students, 16 PhD students, and a total of 688 students in the School and 25 full-time faculty.</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Essential Functions</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>
Teach assigned undergraduate architecture studios and seminars in either our Design and Communication Skills, History/Theory in Architecture, or Building Science curriculum.</li><li>
