 WBEZ's daily talk show(s) are seeking an intern. With mentoring from the show&rsquo;s senior producer, this intern will help with daily production duties including booking guests, prepping interviews, writing scripts, crafting web stories and engaging audiences on social media. Our live shows air from 5am to 1pm every weekday. Shows are news-driven and audience focused. A typical show breaks down the latest news and dives into topics that matter to listeners' day-to-day lives and into arts and culture.
 
 
 The ideal candidate is curious and team-oriented, avidly consumes local and national news and wants to contribute to the public conversation around important issues of the day in the Chicago region. The Talk Show internship will give any budding producer the technical and editorial skills needed to succeed in radio and journalism. This internship is not coffee runs, busy work, and menial labor. It is an intensive experience where interns learn what it takes to become a top show producer. Our interns graduate with an extensive body of work under their belts.

 Responsibilities:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Design logos, visual identity systems, brand guidelines and a wide range of assets for branding, marketing campaigns and content.
 </li>
 <li>
 Follow established brand guidelines while creating compelling and engaging visual designs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate closely with designers, copywriters, strategists and creative directors to bring brand and marketing concepts to life.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop templates for social media, content, presentations and other materials to activate new brand identities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support brand activations by sourcing and selecting images, icons and illustrations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Partner with motion designers to create storyboards for dynamic brand animations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare and deliver production-ready files for multiple platforms and formats.
 </li>
 <li>
 Help organize design assets and maintain clear, consistent file management systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Incorporate feedback from internal teams and clients to refine and improve design work.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Requirements:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong understanding of grid systems, layouts, typography, composition and color theory.
 </li>
 <li>
 Currently pursuing or recently completed a design-related degree from an accredited university or college.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to accept constructive feedback and apply it effectively.
 </li>
 <li>
 Passion for creative problem-solving and staying current with design and marketing trends.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>

 Experience working in Figma is a plus.
 </li>

 Experience working at an agency is a plus.

 Hybrid: 1 or 2 days per week in our Chicago, Seattle or Boston offices/3 days per week remote

 Duration: 12 weeks, paid internship.

 Start Date: May 26, 2026
 </li>

 Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
 </li>
 <li>
 Eligibility: Open to students between their junior and senior years, including those eligible for full-time employment after the internship.
 </li>
 <li>
 Final Step: All finalists must complete a skills test as part of the selection process.
