Under the auspices of the United Nations Secretary-General, the SDSN, in partnership with UNIDO, hosts the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET): a global, high-level body of engineers and energy systems experts contributing to the UN Secretary-General&rsquo;s goal of building a coalition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The CEET was launched in September 2021 and is co-chaired by Gerd M&uuml;ller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and Professor Jeffrey Sachs, President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). Position Summary</b></p><p>
The SDSN is seeking a proactive, dynamic, and creative intern to assist the Climate and Energy (C&amp;E) team, including the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET) with several social media and communications campaigns related to the global energy transition. Under the supervision of the CEET Project Manager, this position will help promote and disseminate C&amp;E outputs, support internal and external communications efforts, and enhance the visibility of the CEET through digital content creation, graphic design, editing materials, and event logistics and support.</p><p>
The Climate and Energy Communications Intern will have the opportunity to engage with a global network of leading engineers and energy systems experts, directly contributing to communications that advance UN priorities around the energy transition.</p><p></p><p><b><br>

The Comptroller&rsquo;s Communications team disseminates information and reports produced by the Comptroller&rsquo;s Office. It accomplishes that by responding to requests from journalists and by communicating to the public through the news media. Communications staff serve as the Comptroller&rsquo;s official spokespeople and arrange press conferences and interviews. The Office prepares written communications, such as brochures, newsletters, and press releases, and prepares speeches and legislative testimony. The Office also designs and edits publicity material and policy statements released by the Office of the Comptroller.<br>

Responsibilities of the Communications intern include, but are not limited to:<br>

<ul><li>Social Monitoring: Track daily news and social media mentions relevant to the office; flag notable coverage, trends, or misinformation in a short daily or weekly digest.</li><li>Content Drafting Support: Draft first-pass social media posts, short web blurbs, or newsletter items based on existing messaging and guidance.</li><li>Research &amp; Fact-Checking: Pull background info, stats, and source links to support press releases, op-eds, or social posts; verify accuracy before publication.</li><li>Asset and Content Organization: Help maintain a shared content calendar and organize photos, graphics, quotes, and past statements in clearly labeled folders.</li><li>Audience &amp; Performance Tracking: Compile basic analytics (email open rates, social engagement, website traffic snapshots) and summarize what&rsquo;s performing well.</li><li>Perform other duties and assignments as may be required.</li></ul><br>
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Matriculation at an accredited college. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in college.
