Overview:

The Industrials Investment Banking group at Scotiabank advises leading corporates and financial sponsors across a broad range of subsectors, including Automotive, Business &amp; Industrial Services, Capital Goods, and Building Products. The team focuses on building long‑term relationships with senior executives and private equity professionals, delivering a full suite of investment banking solutions across mergers &amp; acquisitions and equity and debt capital markets. 


This role is intended for a Senior Analyst or Junior Associate who will play a critical role in transaction execution and client delivery, while gaining meaningful exposure to senior bankers and clients. 


What You&rsquo;ll Do
<ul>
<li>Support the pitching and execution of M&amp;A, equity, and debt capital markets transactions, with increasing ownership over day‑to‑day workstreams</li>
<li>Prepare and review detailed financial analyses and models, including DCFs, LBOs, merger models, and operating projections</li>
<li>Develop high‑quality client materials such as pitch books, management presentations, and marketing documents</li>
<li>Coordinate closely with internal product partners (e.g., Leveraged Finance, ECM, M&amp;A) to deliver integrated, multi‑product solutions</li>
<li>Assist Associate Directors and Managing Directors on live mandates and client coverage initiatives</li>
<li>Manage execution timelines and workstreams with limited oversight, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail</li>
<li>Actively contribute to client coverage efforts, including industry research and relationship development</li>
<li>Partner effectively with team members to support a collaborative, high‑performance team culture</li></ul> 


What You&rsquo;ll Bring
<ul>
<li>2&ndash;5+ years of relevant Investment Banking experience, ideally covering Industrials, or a related sector</li>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required; strong academic background in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline preferred</li>
<li>Demonstrated strength in financial analysis and modeling, including DCF, LBO, and merger analysis</li>
<li>Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of valuation principles</li>
<li>Experience using market data and research platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, and MergerMarket</li>
<li>Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment</li>
<li>Team‑oriented mindset with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and accountability</li>
<li>Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and a desire to continue developing as a banker</li>
<li>Ability to obtain and maintain required FINRA registrations and licenses</li></ul>
