Justice Court Clerk or Trainee

Arlington County is seeking a Courtroom Clerk (Limited Term) to work for the Clerk of the Circuit Court and to assist the Circuit Court Judges in processing civil and criminal court cases.</div>
 <div>Specific duties include:
<ul><li>Attending court and preparing the official record of proceedings in all criminal matters, consistent with procedures established by the court;
</li><li>Administering oaths to litigants, jurors and witnesses;
</li><li>Working closely with Circuit Court judges, Sheriff's deputies, probation officers, and attorneys to manage daily court dockets as well as civil and criminal bench and jury trials;
</li><li>Interacting with citizens called to serve jury duty, typically impaneling and swearing in jurors;
</li><li>Preparing large volume of electronically generated documents including criminal court orders, inmate transportation orders, bond instruments, bench warrants, and jail cards for signature by the Circuit Court judges;
</li><li>Responding to inquiries from court personnel, attorneys, jurors, and the public regarding court proceedings and case status;
</li><li>Working cooperatively with other Courtroom Clerks and judicial law clerks to ensure courtrooms are staffed and work is completed timely;
</li><li>Entering case information in Court's case management and records management systems, preparing court cost information from Court's Financial Management System;
</li><li>Calculating and assessing defendants&rsquo; court fees and costs; and
</li><li>Maintaining strict confidentiality of non-public information and documents.</li></ul></div>
 <div>Minimum: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience in a related discipline such as courts or legal environment may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Desirables: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
<ul><li>Progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience in applying a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws and involve the routine use of specialized terminology and automated software and equipment;

 The Courtroom Clerk performs experienced clerical work within a courtroom, including providing administrative support to Judges and court personnel; operating the recording system; administering oaths; preparing paperwork for signatures; and entering the judge?s findings in the case management system for Prince George?s County District Court. Job Overview Under general supervision, performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the Municipal Court.  The 1 st Judicial District of the Iowa Judicial Branch is seeking applicants for a Judicial Operations Clerk in the Dubuque County Clerk of Court Office, located in Dubuque, Iowa. This position provides clerical support and customer service to ensure efficient court operations and maintain the integrity of court records.
 
 
 This position is responsible for processing case-related documents such as orders, warrants, applications, motions, complaints, bonds, exhibits, and other official case and court-related documents and media to support accurate records and efficient court operations. This position will provide in-person and phone-based customer service to assist court users with requests pertaining to court-related matters, including assistance with case-related questions, processing and recording payments, and providing copies. This position also supports judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and other agencies with case-related information and processing. This position may occasionally support courtroom operations such as jury trials and proceedings.
 
 
 The successful candidate will be able to learn and navigate court record specific computer programs and technology. This position will have the ability to professionally communicate in person and on the phone with a variety of court users. The successful candidate will have keen attention to detail to maintain the accuracy and integrity of court records.
