Maintaining the workflow in and out of judicial chambers typed material for accuracy and correct punctuation, spelling and grammar</div></li><li><div>

Preparing and submitting local and state reports</div></li><li><div>
Managing incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, telephone, case conference calls and follow-up of same</div></li><li><div>
Procuring supplies, equipment, and inventory for chambers, formatting and type charges, judicial opinions and other legal documents</div></li><li><div>
Routine correspondence such as form letters or standard replies to inquires</div></li><li><div>
Non-routine correspondence and any additional duties as required and assigned</div></li><li><div>

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Qualifications</b></h2></div>
<div><p>Three (3) years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: preparing and analyzing legal documents, processing legal or other documents, transcribing information, and scheduling meetings or appointments.<br>
<br>
<b>Substitution:</b><br>
Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one (1) year of experience indicated above. Coursework must include typing skills, methods, and procedures; other courses may include, but are not limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English.<br>
<br>
<b>Testing</b>:<br>
Applicants selected to interview must pass an appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate typing skills of at least 40 words per minute or possess proof of having taken the required skills test (for example, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission or New Jersey Judiciary typing proficiency certificate).<br>
<br>
<b>Note:</b> Knowledge of legal terminology and working knowledge of Microsoft Office is helpful.</p></div><br>

<div><p><b>Driver's License:</b> Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of avehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.<br>

Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor &amp; Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.<br>
