  Required education and experience:
 </strong>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree is required with preference given to degrees in a field of social services to include but not limited to corrections, counseling, criminal justice, criminology, psychology, and social work. This position requires attention to detail and strong written/oral communication skills in addition to computer skills. The ability to work both independently and with a team is required as is the ability to interact with clients and stakeholders in a professional manner. Ability to supervise staff and handle confidential personnel information is required.

  Preferred qualifications:
 </strong>
 Minimum of three years of experience working in the field of probation and/or corrections. Preference given to those who are currently or have prior experience as a Court Services Officer, especially in the areas of Pre-Sentence Investigation and Juvenile Supervision. Effective Practices of Community Supervision, Level of Services Inventory-Revised, and Youth Level of Services assessment tools is preferred. The ability to maintain calm in stressful situations and multi-task is important. Strong leadership and decision-making skills are desired.

 All members of this classification are required to access criminal history record information (CHRI) through the Kansas Criminal Justice Information System (KCJIS) or another criminal justice entity.
