 The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applicants for a Junior Research Scientist in the area of experimental astro-particle physics and applications.
 
 
 The applicant will work in the domain of particle and radiation detectors (organic and inorganic scintillators, photomultipliers and silicon photomultipliers, silicon drift detectors, etc.) applied to various domains: direct dark matter search with dielectric haloscopes, gamma ray spectroscopy, and space-based applications. The applicant may be involved in several projects, including the development and simulation of detectors for Lunar X-ray spectroscopy, in the framework of an extremely dynamic and stimulating research group. It is expected that the applicant will also contribute to the general management of the laboratory and its equipment.
 
 
 Previous members of this group are now pursuing research and academic careers internationally. Applicants must have a Bachelors in Physics. Knowledge and experience in the design and development of particle detectors, including simulation tools such as GEANT4 is preferred, as well as enthusiasm to learn new techniques and to work and interact within a very diverse environment. Experience and interest in rare-event searches (e.g., axion and dark matter detection) and in applying radiation detection techniques to non-standard domains is preferred.

Associations and collaborative research funding projects with researchers in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Political Science are encouraged. Junior Research Scientist in the Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) – Dr. Hisham Sati

 The Center for Brain and Health (CBH) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to support innovative clinical and translational research on brain health and disease in diverse populations within the UAE and wider MENA region.
 
 
 The successful applicant will play a central role in the day-to-day execution of human-subjects research studies, working within a multidisciplinary team of faculty investigators, research assistants, clinicians, and students. The position involves coordinating clinical and observational research protocols that integrate advanced neuroimaging, neuromonitoring, and behavioural methods, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, participant safety, and high-quality data collection.
 
 
 Key responsibilities include coordinating participant recruitment and workflow (pre-screening, informed consent, scheduling, and follow-up), maintaining regulatory and ethics documentation, liaising with clinical partners and imaging facilities, and overseeing clinical aspects of MRI, EEG, and MEG sessions. The Junior Research Scientist / Clinical Coordinator will also contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, support training of research assistants and students, track study progress and recruitment metrics, and assist with grant applications, ethics submissions, and progress reporting. The role works closely with dedicated neuroimaging and research assistants who focus on technical data acquisition, imaging pipelines, and analysis, while the Clinical Coordinator leads clinical governance and participant-facing workflows.
 
 
 Applicants must hold a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, nursing, or a related field; a Master&rsquo;s degree or clinical qualification (e.g., nursing, allied health, clinical psychology) is strongly preferred. Candidates should have 2&ndash;3 years of experience coordinating human-subjects research or clinical trials, ideally in neurology, psychiatry, or related areas, and demonstrated familiarity with ethical and regulatory requirements for human research. Experience working with patient populations and/or in neuroimaging or neuromodulation environments (MRI, EEG, MEG, TMS) is highly advantageous. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or other languages spoken in the UAE is an asset.

Junior Research Scientist in the Center for Brain and Health (CBH) – Dr. Kartik Sreenivasan and Dr. Bas Rokers

<div>
 The Modern Compilers Lab in the Computer Science program at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant to work on the intersection of compilers and deep learning.
 
 
 Many companies, such as Google, Facebook, and Amazon are building new specialized programming frameworks. This is because these companies need to allow their users to write simple, high-level code and run it efficiently on different hardware architectures. For example, Google has built TensorFlow, a framework for deep learning allowing users to run deep learning on multiple hardware architectures without changing the code.
 
 
 Our research team at NYUAD (New York University Abu Dhabi) is developing a new programming framework called Tiramisu [1]. Unlike existing frameworks, Tiramisu can perform advanced code optimizations that are hard to apply otherwise. Because of this, Tiramisu can generate fast code that outperforms highly optimized code written by expert programmers and can target different hardware architectures (multicore, GPUs, FPGAs, and distributed machines).
 
 
 In order to have the best performance (fastest execution) for a given Tiramisu program, many code optimizations should be applied. Optimizations include vectorization (using hardware vector instructions), parallelization (running loop iterations in parallel), enhancing data locality by fusion, and blocking (i.e. accessing arrays in a way that improves temporal and spatial data locality). A large number of optimizations exist and choosing which optimization should be used and which should not is important for performance. In some situations, some optimizations are harmful to performance while they are beneficial in other situations. Currently, there is no way to help users choose which optimizations should be used. Expert programmers usually spend a lot of time trying different optimizations manually to find the best set of optimizations.
 
 
 The goal of this project is to add support for automatic code optimization in Tiramisu. In particular, we want to use machine learning/deep learning to achieve this. Currently, a basic automatic optimization module that relies on machine learning has been developed and we want to take that module to the next level. The final product of this project would be a compiler pass that allows Tiramisu to automatically choose which optimization should be used for a given unoptimized program. We want to produce a high-quality technique that can be used by the users of Tiramisu and especially by our partner companies and research labs.
 
 
 Candidates must hold a bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, though a master&rsquo;s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have Internship or experience in the areas of compilers and artificial intelligence.
