Overall Purpose:
This position is responsible for planning, researching, and writing documentation that may comprise either or both of the following:<ul><li>
Policies, Standards, Procedures and Work Instructions for internal business or technical processes.</li><li>
Technical content for products delivered to customers, including existing and new products.</li><li>
Responsible for managing assigned work projects, including determining deliverables, estimating effort, defining timelines, and reporting status.</li><li>

Essential Functions<ul><li>
Meet with technical and business project stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather the information needed to create required internal and external documentation.</li><li>
Drive the process to determine the project scope and the document content that needs to be created and how it needs to be delivered (PDF documents, online (HTML), or other) to meet the needs of project stakeholders. May be required to work on several projects concurrently.</li><li>
Develop appropriate schedules and work plans for content development and manage the execution of those plans.</li><li>
Document status of project milestones for the Technical Writer workflow (Salesforce, Lockpath, ad other).</li><li>
Research and translate technical information / artifacts or business processes into content that can be delivered as output such as web content, online help, knowledge bases, technical requirements documents, system and implementation guides, reference manuals, user guides, training materials, policies and procedures, and associated forms.</li><li>
Track technical and non-technical changes and revise content, resolve issues, and verify the technical and functional accuracy of the documentation deliverables.</li><li>
Develop, apply, maintain, and continuously improve technical content development best practices and standards. This includes defining, implementing, and maintaining reuse model(s) for content single-sourcing.</li><li>
Maintain standard look and feel for content deliverables by formatting documents using defined CSS (styles), templates, and adhering to style guidelines defined by the Technical Writer Policies and Procedures.</li><li>
Create new or work with existing templates and CSS (styles and formats) to define standardized look and feel of documents. Experience using industry style guides (especially Google and Microsoft) and integrating into content development.</li><li>
Follow instructions to maintain version control of documentation defined by the Technical Writer Policies and Procedures. Identity and implement best practices for this activity.</li><li>
Create technical diagrams to depict system structure, program logic and process flow.</li><li>
Facilitate development of standard internal business processes across disparate teams.</li><li>
Identify/implement process gaps and define best practices for Technical Writing processes and standards. Also identify and implement efficiency and/or quality improvements for content development.</li><li>
Demonstrated competencies in communication, self-management / self-initiation, decision-making, and working cross-departmentally to proactively provide status and updates.</li><li>

Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree is preferred within a study of Technical Writing, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, English, Journalism, or a related field.</li><li>
Typically, minimum of 8 years of progressive experience, dependent on the level and type of contribution, in defining and writing and editing technical manuals, guides and/or training aids or Policy, Standard and Procedure documentation.</li><li>
Intermediate to expert proficiency in Madcap Flare and its toolset.</li><li>

Physical Requirements:

Technical Writer

<div>iSchool is seeking a Content Reviewer (Computer Science Tracks) to ensure high-quality, accurate, and engaging educational materials across key CS fields like AI, web development, data science, cybersecurity, game development, and app development. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in at least one of these areas and the ability to break down complex concepts into clear, age-appropriate lessons for students at various skill levels. This role involves reviewing and refining content to enhance clarity, technical correctness, and learning effectiveness, helping shape a world-class tech education experience. 
Requirements 
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Review and Quality Assurance:<ul><li>
Evaluate and review technical content for accuracy, clarity, and coherence, ensuring it is appropriate for the students age range and educational level.</li><li>
Ensure content aligns with educational standards and industry best practices.</li><li>
Check for technical correctness and relevance to current technologies and practices.</li></ul>
2. Age-Appropriate Presentation:<ul><li>
Ensure content is presented in a way that is engaging and understandable for the student age range.</li><li>
Adapt technical language and explanations to be accessible and educational for students.</li></ul>
3. Content Improvement:<ul><li>
Provide detailed comments with feedback and actionable suggestions for each content deliverable, adhering to established review guidelines..</li><li>
Edit material to enhance structure, readability, and educational value.</li><li>
Proofread for grammatical, spelling, and formatting errors.</li></ul>
4. Collaboration:<ul><li>
Work closely with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and content developers to address any content issues and implement improvements.</li><li>
Participate in content development meetings and contribute insights based on technical knowledge.</li></ul>
5. Educational Alignment:<ul><li>
Ensure that content aligns with educational goals and learning outcomes for students.</li><li>
Assist in developing content that supports curriculum objectives and enhances student learning experiences.</li></ul>
6. Reporting and Documentation:<ul><li>
Track and report on content review metrics and issues.</li><li>
Document review processes and maintain records of feedback provided.</li></ul>
Requirements:<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>
3-5 years of proven experience in STEM education. Must meet the minimum age requirement of 25.</li><li>
Experience with instructional design or educational content development.</li><li>
Previous experience working with educational institutions or in a learning environment.</li><li>
Strong background in one of these fields(AI -web development, data science, cybersecurity, embedded systems, and computer fundamentals).</li><li>
Proficiency in Google Drive for content management, including document organization, collaboration, and version control.</li><li>
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inaccuracies or inconsistencies</li><li>
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul>
