</b></h3><div><div><p>The Fei Li lab lab at NYU&rsquo;s Department of Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Junior Laboratory Associate. This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.</p>
<p>
This position is for a trainee preparing for a research path. It will provide development of technical skills; supervision by senior scientists incorporating individual development plan in support of training goals and those of faculty mentor; and possible publication of research findings during appointment period.
</p><p>Responsibilities may include conducting experiments; data analysis; troubleshooting and resolving problems and helping with special projects; maintaining lab equipment, including glassware, and media preparation.</p>
<p>
Projects in the Fei Li lab focus on studying molecular mechanisms of epigenetics and chromatin organization using fission yeast <i>Schizosaccharomyces pombe </i>as<i> </i>a model organism. Planned projects use a combination of advanced approaches, including molecular genetics, live cell imaging, biochemistry, genomics, and structural biology<b>, </b>to address fundamental questions in epigenetics. Because the Lansing lab supports a wide range of functions, the ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for the Finishing/Paint Applications Lab. They will also be adaptable and comfortable supporting work in the Fabrication/High Bay area. Responsibilities include the following:</p><p><br>

General &amp; Safety:</b></p>

<li>Follow all corporate and facility safety guidelines, as well as HR policies</li>
<li>Support raw material management, including inventory, ordering, and SDS review, in collaboration with manufacturing plants</li></ul><br>

Finishing / Paint Applications Lab:</b></p>

<li>Serve as the primary technician for paint mixing protocols and substrate specimen painting</li>
<li>Perform ISO 17025&ndash;accredited paint application tests following established OEM standards</li>
<li>Execute equipment and test quality protocols</li>
<li>Maintain quality documentation, including technical writing and compliance reviews</li>
<li>Participate in laboratory accreditation audits</li>
<li>Assist operations, engineering, and customer teams as needed</li>

<p><b>Fabrication / High Bay Responsibilities:</b></p>

<li>Weigh laboratory-scale polypropylene compound raw material blends</li>
