The Cognition in Context lab at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a 12-month Lab Manager to start June 1. This is a part-time, in-person position potentially with benefits. Many of the responsibilities of the Lab Manager will involve setting up critical research infrastructure (protocols, ethics approvals, experimental setup, physical lab space) and getting experimental data collection up and running. Applicants <b>must</b> have an undergraduate degree in a related area (e.g., psychology, cognitive science, experimental linguistics), prior experience working in a research lab, and a keen interest in studying social cognitive processes between diverse groups.</p><p>
Under the supervision of Dr. Mehrgol Tiv, the Lab Manager will be a vital member of the Cognition in Context laboratory, Department of Psychology (Cognitive and Social), and Learning, Research &amp; Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh. The Lab Manager will assist in the following:</p><ul><li><b>Experimental design</b> (stimulus development, literature review, programming of experimental protocols)</li><li><b>Data collection and analysis</b> (recruitment of participants, in-person and online behavioral data collection through Prolific and platforms such as Gorilla, collecting eyetracking data with SR Research EyeLink technology, applying advanced statistics and modeling techniques in R, assisting in grant and manuscript preparation)</li><li><b>Data storage and management plans</b> (file servers, ethics applications, consent forms, bookkeeping and participant payments)</li><li><b>Management of physical and digital lab space</b> (setting up testing rooms, assisting in equipment purchases, setting up eyetracker, crafting lab handbook, purchasing supplies and equipment)</li><li><b>Supervising research assistants </b>(training RAs, scheduling lab meeting, interviewing RAs)</li><li>Other related duties as assigned</li></ul><p>
 This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with nearly every aspect of research in the lab with a collaborative PI. There is also time for the Lab Manager to develop their own research projects and engage with resources and events in the Department of Psychology.</p><p>
The Cognition in Context lab examines the social and cognitive processes that enable people to understand each other, as well as how cognitive processes, like language, interact with diverse and complex social cues in the environment. The lab uses a variety of methods and approaches, including behavioral experiments, eyetracking, linguistic analysis, social network analysis, demographic analysis, and big data analysis. <p>The SOVA Fab Lab Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful operation of the SOVA Fab Lab, located at 801 Wilborn Avenue, South Boston, Virginia, on the SOVA Innovation Hub campus. This position is employed by Mid-Atlantic Broadband Communities Corporation (MBC) and operates as part of the SOVA Innovation Hub team. This role is a grant-funded role with initial funding for two years (24 months), with continuation dependent on funding availability.</p><p>The SOVA Fab Lab Manager establishes and enforces safety protocols, oversees equipment and facilities, manages staff and volunteers, and supports users through training, mentorship, and technical assistance. The SOVA Fab Lab Manager ensures that the SOVA Fab Lab operates as a community-focused, innovative space that supports learning, creativity, and fabrication, in alignment with the missions of MBC, the SOVA Innovation Hub, and RISE Collaborative. The SOVA Fab Lab Manager will operate within the standards of the global Fab Lab network, which is an open, creative community of fabricators, artists, scientists, engineers, educators, students, amateurs, professionals, of all ages. HawkEye 360 is seeking a highly organized, proactive Inventory Manager to oversee our engineering lab environment and satellite hardware inventory. As we scale our constellation of small satellites, maintaining a world-class, high-efficiency lab space is essential to our mission success.

In this role, you will ensure our engineering teams have the tools, components, and well-managed environment needed to design and build cutting-edge RF technology. You will own our inventory management processes, coordinate with critical vendors, maintain calibration schedules, and ensure the lab is safe, efficient, and mission-ready.

<b>As the Inventory Manager, your main responsibilities will be:</b><br>

<li>Maintain and continuously update our internal inventory tool (Epsilon) to track flight hardware, serial numbers, electronic components, and consumables.</li>
<li>Perform receiving inspections to verify incoming hardware against shipping documentation and CoCs, ensuring accurate updates to inventory system</li>
<li>Organize, label, and store HawkEye 360 hardware across engineering lab spaces to support multiple satellite build programs.</li>
<li>Dispatch hardware to engineers and technicians, ensuring accurate real-time updates to inventory trackers.</li>
<li>Manage procurement for lab supplies, including submitting and tracking purchase orders, and coordinate closely with vendors for timely delivery.</li>
<li>Ensure the lab is consistently stocked with essential engineering materials (connectors, cables, fasteners, tools, soldering supplies, etc.).</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, professional, and highly organized lab environment aligned with best practices for engineering and test operations.</li>
<li>Own the schedule and execution of equipment calibrations to ensure measurement tools meet quality and audit standards.</li>
<li>Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering and Facilities for lab upgrades, hazmat handling, power requirements, and safety/compliance activities.</li>
