UN-Habitat works with partners to build inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and communities. UN-Habitat promotes urbanization as a positive transformative force for people and communities, reducing inequality, discrimination and poverty. Under its global mandate, UN-Habitat has been expanding its engagement across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to support the localization and implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the urban dimensions of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 11.
