First Star is a national college-access program with the mission of improving the education outcomes for youth in foster care. There are currently fifteen First Star Academies partnered with universities, child welfare agencies and school systems across the country. The program model focuses on academics, life-skills and self-advocacy and engages our scholars throughout all four years of their high school career. First Star hosts one Saturday Academy each month during the academic year and a month-long residential Summer Academy at the University of Utah during the summer. To enroll in First Star, youth must be in foster care at the time of application, but they remain in First Star for all four years of high school regardless of changing foster care placements, adoption or reunification with their biological families. Nationally, 50% of youth in foster care graduate high school, and less than 1% graduate college. Of the foster youth in the First Star Academies, 100% graduate high school and 92% enroll in college.

<b>About the position:

Summer Academy Instructors play a critical role in the success of the Academy. The Instructors are responsible for developing the curriculum for the courses they will be teaching, teaching the course(s), and providing feedback on each youth&rsquo;s progress. The course should be aligned with the state curriculum standards and encourage successful learning practices.<br>
<br>
We are looking for one math instructor to teach during the academy, June 23rd &ndash; July 18th, Monday &ndash; Friday, 9:00am to 12:00pm. The teacher would instruct roughly 15 students from 9am to 10am and then switch groups with the other instructors, covering three hour-long periods across three student groups. There would also be a teaching assistant present in the classroom. Outside this 3-hour morning block of teaching, the position would include hours before June 23rd planning the curriculum based off student assessments that we are currently conducting and occasional evening tutoring sessions during the Summer Academy.<br>

Our ideal candidate would be interested and available in continuing curriculum development and teaching for Summer Academy the following academic year.</div>

</p><p>CCCSD, in conjunction with Black Rocket Productions, is seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as an Assistant Instructor to help teach exciting classes like ROBLOX, Video Game Design, Minecraft, and MORE!
</p><p>An Assistant Instructor must be at least 18 years of age by May 2026. This is a perfect job for undergrad students with summers off who want to teach children various types of new technology. Assistant Instructors are adults who, with the Lead Instructors, are responsible for the well-being and education of the students. Experience working with children and/or the technology used in class are preferred. Classroom management skills are valued. Upon completion of the Black Rocket training program, instructors must demonstrate competency in the core concepts and software used. This is a seasonal position for the month of July.

<br>About the Role
<br>Concorde Education is seeking a Spanish Instructor to lead engaging after-school programs for students. This role focuses on building foundational Spanish language skills through interactive, communication-based instruction.
<br>Instructors will guide students through speaking, listening, and vocabulary development while introducing cultural topics in an accessible, age-appropriate way. Programs are designed for beginner-level learners, with flexibility based on grade level and site needs.
<br>What You’ll Teach
<br><ul>
<li>Students will learn introductory Spanish through active participation and real-world communication. Topics may include:</li>
<li>Greetings, introductions, and everyday phrases</li>
<li>Numbers, dates, and basic conversational language</li>
<li>High-frequency vocabulary (school, family, food, hobbies)</li>
<li>Listening and speaking through games, role-play, and dialogue</li>
<li>Basic sentence structure and simple grammar patterns</li>
<li>Cultural topics from Spanish-speaking countries (traditions, food, music, geography)</li>
</ul>
Responsibilities
<br><ul>
<li>Lead structured, engaging Spanish language sessions aligned to program goals</li>
<li>Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation</li>
<li>Adapt instruction for different skill levels and confidence levels</li>
<li>Emphasize speaking and listening through interactive activities</li>
<li>Communicate with program staff regarding attendance and session updates</li>
<li>Support a culminating activity or demonstration of student learning (if applicable)</li>
</ul>
Qualifications

<li>Minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress)</li>
<li>Proficiency in Spanish (ability to model pronunciation and basic instruction)</li>
<li>Experience working with students (schools, camps, tutoring, or youth programs)</li>
<li>Strong communication and classroom management skills</li>
<li>Reliable, punctual, and professional</li>
</ul>
