Position Summary (major areas of contribution):
The Laser Operator follows instructions on the job traveler to cut parts required to build product. The success of this position is based on effectively carrying out the following &ldquo;Essential Functions of the Position.&rdquo;

High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be able to read and understand assembly drawings, sketches and blueprints.
Must be able to accurately identify measurements of parts and determine require machine operations from the measurement.
Basic math and mechanical ability
Perform typical laser cutting operations.
Operate the CNC laser cutting machine
Set up laser machine based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.

1. General Summary of the Position 


The CNC Plasma/Waterjet Operator position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various types of machinery, including CNC machines, laser cutters, plasma cutters, and waterjet to produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a production environment. This position requires the ability to perform physical labor, material handling, heavy lifting (up-to-90 lbs.) constantly, and the ability to occasionally work in non-controlled environment. 

2. Essential Functions 

<div>
<ul><li>Cuts workpiece using CNC machine, powered saws, hand shears or chipping knife.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Recognize, set-up and operate tools and equipment for tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc or other welding equipment in flat, vertical or overhead positions.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Lays out, positions and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers and ruler.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Work with precise limits and standards of accuracy.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Inspect grooves, angles or gap allowances using micrometer, caliper and precision measuring instruments.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Material handling and storage; heavy lifting (50-80 lbs.), pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, walking, forward/above shoulder reaching and balancing for long periods of time and performing strenuous physical labor primarily indoors and occasionally under non-environmentally controlled shop conditions. No travel required.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to read and interpret metal rules. Recognize the importance of being exact or accurate.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Skilled mechanically and able to inspect and perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or workpieces. Perform burning work.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete daily activities according to work schedules.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Load or unload bundles, equipment or materials to/from trucks; move bundles, equipment or materials to storage or work areas using material handling equipment.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Own a portfolio of key refractive accounts and deliver consistent, above-plan revenue growth through the sale and increased utilization of ZEISS refractive 
consumables (SMILE, SMILE pro, LASIK flap, ICR and MEL90).</li><li>
Partner with account surgeons, practice administrators, and staff to identify 
barriers to procedure growth and implement targeted action plans that drive 
higher case volume and consumable consumption.</li><li>
Work hand-in-hand with Refractive Sales Representatives and Clinical Applications teams to deliver seamless, high-value support to customers. Co- 
develop and execute strategic account plans that align clinical excellence with 
commercial results.</li><li>
Build and maintain strong, multi-level relationships within each account. Conduct 
regular business reviews, utilization audits, and performance coaching sessions 
to ensure ZEISS is the preferred and highest-volume platform.</li><li>
Continuously monitor account performance, competitive activity, and market 
trends. Proactively surface expansion opportunities (new surgeons, additional 
lasers, practice growth initiatives) and convert them into revenue.</li><li>
Maintain a strong, visible presence in the field. Travel extensively (60&ndash;75%) 
within the territory to support live cases, conduct training, deliver in-service 
programs, and build personal relationships with key decision-makers.</li><li>
Provide accurate, timely forecasts and pipeline updates. Track and report key

Do you qualify?
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred (Business, Life Sciences, or related field preferred) or equivalent experience.</li><li>
Minimum 3&ndash;5 years of successful medical device sales experience, ideally in ophthalmology, refractive surgery, or capital equipment/consumables.</li><li>
Proven track record of growing utilization and driving revenue in complex, relationship-driven accounts.</li><li>
Experience calling on refractive surgeons, practice administrators, and optometric co-management networks is highly preferred.</li><li>
