</div><div>The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board develops and enforces reasonable administrative regulations relative to the sale and use of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, nicotine and vapor products. The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control includes various divisions as follows: the Commissioner&rsquo;s office, the Distilled Spirits and Malt Beverage divisions, an administrative services branch, a licensing division, an education branch, a legal division and an enforcement division.<br>

We are looking for an Investigator II to join our team of highly skilled professionals. As an Investigator II you will conduct complex and sensitive investigations and enforcement of Kentucky and federal alcohol and tobacco laws. Searches, surveys, apprehends and arrests persons suspected of violating laws.<br>
<br>
Key Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Conducts complex and sensitive investigations such as death and/or fatal collision investigations. Assists in training and mentoring newly hired investigators. Completes and submits administrative paperwork and other required documentation for administrative and criminal assignments.
</li><li>Plans, organizes, coordinates, reviews the work of a group of investigators including, but not limited to, search warrant planning and execution, investigation of cases and/or executing emergency suspension orders. Investigates complaints.
</li><li>Conducts required number of tobacco inspections. Issues administrative citations and/or warnings for tobacco violations under KRS Chapter 438. Achieves and maintains Federal Drug Administration (FDA) Commission status. Follows guidelines of FDA Program Coordinator and testifies at FDA hearings.
</li><li>Searches, seizes, catalogs, marks and secures evidence and contraband while maintaining chain of custody. Complies with all standards contained within the agency's Procedure Manual. Recruits Investigative Aides and supervises them during enforcement operations.
</li><li>Testifies at administrative and criminal proceedings.

<b>The current vacancy position is located in the</b><b> </b><b>Department of the Attorney General, Investigations Division, Cannabis Nuisance Abatement Unit (CNAU), and reports to the Chief Special Investigator. The function of the CNAU is to provide for the effective enforcement and prosecution of those who violate drug nuisance abatement laws under Chapter 712, part V, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) but only for offenses related to drugs and intoxicating compounds as provided under Chapter 712, part IV and violations of Chapter 329D as provided under section 712-1270. The primary purpose of this position is to supervise and participate in the enforcement and investigations for the CNAU. This position is responsible for managing the development, implementation, and enforcement of any violations relating to drug nuisance abatement laws.</b><br>

<b>The Investigations Division is responsible for providing investigative services to all State departments and law enforcement agencies within the State of Hawaii in conducting criminal, civil, and administrative investigations.</b><br>

<b>This position is vested with statewide police powers in accordance with Section 28-11, HRS and is authorized to carry and utilize firearms and ammunition.</b><br>

<b>This position is responsible for independently performing investigations relating to the enforcement and prosecution of violations involving the State licensed medical cannabis program. Public Advocate Investigator

<div><p>General Summary:

Serves warrants and performs booking procedures; transports witnesses and prisoners; provides investigative support to all attorneys in the County Attorney's Office; reviews cases received, including contacting victims, witnesses, and suspects; serves subpoenas for witnesses to testify in court; interviews and assists attorneys in preparing witnesses to testify; assists with hot check investigations; and provides courtroom security during arraignments.
</p><p>Essential Duties:

Serves warrants and performs booking procedures for various offenses;
</p><p>Transports prisoners and witnesses to and from courthouse;
</p><p>Contacts and victims, witnesses, and suspects in cases, and attempts to resolve cases out of court whenever possible;
</p><p>Gathers evidence and assists attorneys in building cases which are presentable in a court of law;
</p><p>Serves subpoenas for witnesses called by the court;
</p><p>Interviews witnesses and victims prior to court and assists attorneys in preparing them to testify;
</p><p>Assists with the hot check functions of the office, including locating check writers;
</p><p>Conducts preliminary forgery investigations;
</p><p>Assists the Family Violence unit in protecting applicants for protective orders;
</p><p>Serves protective orders and writs of attachment;

</p><p>Provides security for the courtroom during arraignments;
</p><p>Attends mandatory training courses and seminars;
