The Department of Investigation (DOI) is seeking a highly skilled Confidential Investigator Level 3 to join Squad 3, which oversees several key New York City agencies, including the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the Department of Buildings, the Housing Development Corporation, the Department of Small Business Services, the Department of City Planning, the Business Integrity Commission, the Landmarks Preservation Commission, and the Board of Standards and Appeals.<br>

In this investigative role, you will conduct complex and long-term investigations of fraud and corruption involving affordable housing subsidies, development tax credits, and entities engaged in housing-related business with New York City using all types of investigative tools, including subpoenas, interviews, physical and electronic surveillance, undercover operations, and confidential informants.<br>

Key Responsibilities:<br>

<ul><li>Lead investigations into suspected fraud, corruption, and misconduct involving City employees, City-funded housing developers, contractors, vendors, and public benefit recipients.</li></ul>
- Examine a wide range of records and data -including development filings, housing applications, financial statements, and agency records and policies -to detect vulnerabilities and irregularities.<br>
<ul><li>Plan and execute investigative operations, including interviews of witnesses and subjects, surveillance activities, subpoenas, and fieldwork across New York City.</li><li>Collaborate closely with DOI attorneys, auditors, analysts, and investigators, as well as prosecutors and other law enforcement agencies, in advancing investigations and sharing findings.</li><li>Draft clear investigative reports and written referrals</li><li>Propose operational and procedural reforms to strengthen agency controls and reduce risk.</li><li>Maintain meticulous case documentation in compliance with DOI standards, and uphold confidentiality and integrity in all investigative activities.</li><li>Participate in cross-team case briefings, trainings, and interagency coordination meetings.</li></ul><br>

GENERAL SUMMARY
</b></h1><p>The Police Detective is a critical role within the Nisqually Public Safety Department, responsible for upholding law enforcement and treaty rights enforcement to protect the Nisqually Tribe, its community, and its natural resources. This position is primarily tasked with investigating reported and suspected violations of the Nisqually Tribal Code and serves as the lead investigator for crimes occurring on the Nisqually Reservation and other properties held by the Tribe. The Detective conducts both assigned and self-initiated criminal investigations in support of all divisions within Nisqually Public Safety, including Police, Corrections, and Fish &amp; Wildlife. Must be 21 years of age or older</li><li>
Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law Enforcement or a related field.
</li><li>Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience as a Detective or Criminal Investigator.
</li><li>Must have attended and passed BIA-FLETC Basic Police Academy and be eligible to attend WA CJTC equivalency academy
</li><li>Must be able to demonstrate skills in leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of preparing detailed investigative reports and communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
</li><li>Must have experience with using various regional law enforcement databases for investigative purposes.
</li><li>Must possess, or be able to obtain, valid First Aid and CPR certification.
