Lead Engineer - AI
- India

About the role
Most companies now have access to good AI models. Very few have AI running reliably inside the work that actually pays the bills. We are two businesses with a lot of real, high-volume operational work — and we want it re-built around AI properly, not demoed.
1 is an overseas education consultancy sending thousands of Indian students abroad every year. Counselling, applications, visa documentation, follow-ups.
2nd is a student accommodation marketplace across India, the UK and Ireland (London, Dublin, Limerick). Property sourcing, listings, bookings, landlord and university relationships.
You will sit inside a department, watch how the work is really done, wire AI into the systems those teams actually use, and stay with it until it runs reliably against a business number agreed before you start. Not a consultant who writes a deck. Not a vendor who ships a demo and leaves.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Deploy AI into Map how a department genuinely works — not how the SOP says it works. With the department head and founder, real workflows agree one business metric before any code is written (turnaround time, cost per case, conversion, error rate). Build it
into the systems they already use, run it against real volume, and stay on it until it works without you.
Lead the team - Set the standards for how we ship engineering team — what gets reviewed, what gets tested, what never reaches production unchecked. Your team handles day-to-day
reliability and tooling; you own whether it holds up.
Own our internal NetMind (contacts and relationship tool — Lovable, Supabase, MCP server wired into Claude) and the products surfaces.
conversations and investor meetings. They must work.
Build tools that Small, high-leverage internal tools that make named people measurably faster — lease and availability tracking, compound internal dashboards, expense and habit tracking, and similar. Mostly delegated to your team once standards are set.
Handle data Our systems touch student personal data, lease documents and payment information across India, the UK and responsibly Ireland, so UK and EU data protection rules apply. You follow and enforce our access rules, and you flag anything that cannot pass them before it ships.
Must have
- 2–4 years building and shipping software that real users depend on.
- Experience mentoring or leading at least one other developer. This can be your first formal management role — we will back you into it.
- Genuinely fast with AI-assisted development (Claude, Cursor, Lovable or equivalent) and able to read, debug and fix what comes out of it. Speed without debugging ability is a liability here.
- Comfortable across the stack: front end, APIs, databases (Postgres / Supabase), deployment.
- Have integrated with systems you did not build — CRMs, spreadsheets, third-party APIs, processes held together by WhatsApp.
- Willing to spend a full day sitting with a counsellor or supply manager, watching them work, before proposing anything. Able to explain a technical decision in one page to a non- technical reader.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
