***This is a full-time, day shift position at OhioHealth's brand-new Pharmacy Integrated Service Center (ISC) in Canal Winchester. The ISC will be responsible for distributing medications for all OhioHealth clinics and will also house a Pharmacy Learning Center. The Lead Pharmacy Technician will likely evolve as the ISC starts functioning, but a start would entail being responsible for Operations and Compliance. JOB SUMMARY
 
 
To lead the workflow for all pharmacy technicians and interns. This includes collaborating with managers on interviewing, hiring decisions, training, evaluations, and maintenance of competency and time and attendance records. To assist the pharmacist staff in the performance of dispensing tasks, including compounding IV solutions; filling unit-dose carts, floor stock orders, technology dispensing equipment, and medication orders; timely delivery of medications. Serves as the lead liaison in robot and medication cabinet reporting and, in conjunction with department management, affect the appropriate changes and routine adjustment and allocation processes as site technician leadership structure may require.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Assists students with the skills associated with the scope of practice for their designated subject.
</li><li>Assist lead instructor to evaluate, report and record student performance and progress.
</li><li>Assist lead instructor with all required skill labs, grading class assignments, and exams.</li><li>
Prepares students to go on to an externship.</li><li>
Assists students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
</li><li>Provides a professional role model for students.
</li><li>Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/learning strategies</li></ul>
Requirements and Qualifications
Licensed Pharmacy Technician.
1 year experience in the Pharmacy field (preferred).
Teaching and/or supervisory experience desirable.
Must be energetic and able to deliver instruction passionately.
Efficient with computers and technology.
Organized and detail oriented.
Must understand all Pharmacy related medical math concepts and be able to teach them to class</div>

WORK SCHEDULE:
Up to 19. 99 hours per week with no benefits. Must have flexibility to work between the hours of 7:45 am and 6:15 pm, Monday through Friday, and potentially Saturdays. May float to other campuses that may require assistance with staffing shortages.

Senior Pharmacy Technologist
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>
Two (2) years of pharmacy technician experience OR Associate of Applied Science in Pharmacy Technician</li><li>
Four (4) or more advanced Pharmacy Technologist competencies:<ul><li>
Prepares and/or oversees preparation of complex prescription medications or medications that require special handling within assigned area such as extemporaneous non-sterile compounded products, sterile compounded IV products or specialty medications</li><li>
Participates in the operations of medication therapy management</li><li>
Initiates medication reconciliation</li><li>
Assists with screening, documentation, and preparation of immunizations</li><li>
Works with patients, providers, and payers to obtain prior authorization</li><li>
Resolves billing/adjudication issues encountered in the processing of prescription</li><li>
Proficient in the use of financial assistance software</li><li>
Proficient in C2 safe operation and/or OR anesthesia narcotic reconciliation</li><li>
Advanced skill in the use of technology within area of assignment</li><li>
Works with leaders and team members to solve problems within assigned area</li><li>
Ability to train new employees within area of assignment</li><li>
Demonstrates the ability to communicate with other healthcare professionals effectively and professionally</li><li>

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Pharmacy Technologist provides technical support and addresses problems related to the assigned area and only passes complex issues to the relevant Lead Pharmacy Technologist and/or Supervisor as needed.
