<li>Monitor claims processing and accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate handling. Respond to emails and tasks on a daily basis</li>
<li>Work closely with all departments to obtain information to enable maximal filing, re-filing, and collection of all outstanding accounts</li>

<li>Utilize available resources effectively and seek direction when uncertain of procedures</li>

<p>Scope:</p>
<ul><li>Promotes quality relations and creates a supportive climate by serving as a role model. Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information relative to the laboratory. Adheres to and enforces prescribed laboratory safety policies and regulations.</li>
<li>Works independently with minimal direction. Functions as a liaison between the laboratory and the laboratory customer service agents in resolving insurance or patient account issues to completion.</li>
<li>Operates general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computer keyboards and CRT. Effectively communicates via written, verbal, face-to-face, telephone, and computer methods.</li>
<li>Utilizes proper telephone etiquette by being pleasant, attentive, taking accurate notes, and asking clarifying questions.</li>
<li>Responds to requests promptly.</li>
</ul>
<p>Education and Experience:</p>
<ul><li>High school diploma or general equivalency</li>
<li>3+ years experience in physician office or laboratory billing</li>
<li>Experience with NextGen EMR Practice Management</li>
<li>Experience with Athena EMR and/or Orchard LIS is helpful but not required</li>
<li>Must attend annual compliance training and pass testing</li></ul><br>

Skills:</p>
<ul><li>Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance processes</li>
<li>Good understanding and experience of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding</li>
<li>Moderate computer competency</li>
<li>Experience creating, managing, and analyzing spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)</li>
<li>Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet staffing needs</li></ul><br>
