About the Role

Location: New York, NY; Hybrid

As Legal Counsel in our TRS Legal team, supporting our Turnaround &amp; Restructuring Services (TRS) Americas practice, you will play a pivotal role in the development of this new position focused on structuring, launching, and managing high-stakes client engagements. You will work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Risk colleagues as well as TRS Americas consultants&mdash;along with outside counsel&mdash;to help guide the firm through complex matters with speed, accuracy, and sound judgment.

The Legal Counsel II position is a full-time role in New York, NY and reports to the Associate General Counsel - Restructuring.

What you'll do

In this role, you will:

<li>Draft, review, and negotiate engagement letters, agreements, non-disclosure agreements, disclaimers, report access letters and related documents for TRS clients.</li>
<li>Provide legal and risk review of reports and work product prior to client issuance.</li>

 What you'll bring

<li>Graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law.</li>
<li>Minimum four (4) years' legal experience required, with chapter 11 bankruptcy experience required.</li>

Position Summary:
The Social Services Attorney will provide legal assistance to clients of Met Council&rsquo;s Elder Abuse Prevention Program including advising and representing clients in relevant court and/or administrative hearings; advising our program&rsquo;s social workers on legal matters related to cases; and filing, modifying, or obtaining exclusions to orders of protection. The Social Services Attorney will also help inform Met Council&rsquo;s advocacy work regarding elder abuse/exploitation including legislative and policy matters.
Principal Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Provide legal assistance to clients of Met Council&rsquo;s Elder Abuse Prevention Program, including in person court appearances.</li>
<li>Complete required paperwork/case management records on all cases and referrals.
</li><li>Plan, organize and carry out special outreach events and legal education workshops to senior citizens and caregivers.
</li><li>As needed, advise paralegals, interns, and/or other non-attorney staff.
</li><li>Coordinate elder policy analysis and advocacy.</li>

 Monitor and track insurance reviews with internal teams and consultants to ensure compliance with bank requirements.

 Coordinate with the Bank&rsquo;s legal representatives to schedule loan closings and collect required closing items from borrowers, internal teams, and legal counsel.

 Pay Range
 
 
 
 The total compensation pay range for new hires in New York City is $120,000 - $140,000 annually. This range includes a base pay, plus an annual discretionary bonus. The amount of any actual bonus may vary and is subject to individual and company performance.
