As an experienced member of the Legal Resource Center (LRC), the Legal Support Specialist II (LSS II) provides advanced administrative and legal support to attorneys firm-wide. The LSS II works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team environment to deliver the highest level of service to internal and external clients.

<b>Key Responsibilities:</b><br>

<li>Prepare legal documents, memoranda and correspondence from draft or dictated text.</li>
<li>Create, edit, format and proofread documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail.</li>
<li>Draft simple notices.</li>
<li>Generate pleadings and briefs with the ability to perform extensive formatting, styling and editing of documents using advanced features of Word including Tables of Contents, Tables of Authorities, Cross-referencing, and Track Changes.</li>
<li>Transcribe data from audio tapes.</li>
<li>Create and edit PowerPoint slide presentations and other graphs and charts.</li>
<li>Convert PDF files to Word format, cleaning up and formatting converted document.</li>
<li>Manage workflow of assigned tasks and projects, prioritizing incoming tasks to meet deadlines and coordinate with other support services to complete work.</li>
<li>Transmit legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence to clients, witnesses and court officials by electronic filing, fax, email, mail and/or messenger.</li>
<li>Assist with management of client financial records, accountings and reporting requirements.</li>
<li>Calendar critical deadlines and other dates requiring action and ensure accurate calculations.</li>
<li>Submit for and maintain, Bar and Court Admissions.</li>
<li>Track attorney Continuing Legal Education.</li>
<li>Provide additional support, back-up and PTO coverage for LSS I Team.</li>

<b>Job Requirements:</b><br>

<li>Associate’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.</li>
<li>3-4 years of experience as a legal assistant primarily in Litigation.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills.</li>

</p><p>The Legal Support Specialist supports a broad range of practice-specific activities including business development, managing day-to-day administrative and strategic initiatives, managing workflow, and preparation of client reports and documents. The role also requires the effective management of the professional responsibilities of the assigned attorneys, including coordination with clients, proactive management of attorney calendars, and responsibility for monthly billing. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, technical savvy, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and work in an organized and efficient manner. Candidate should be flexible to work overtime as needed.<br>

<b>Key Responsibilities
</b></p><ul><li>Assists in the creation, editing, proofreading, and processing of legal documents such as correspondence, memoranda, closing documents, pleadings, papers and other practice specific documents.
</li><li>Acquires an in-depth understanding of client relationships and businesses to provide the team information necessary to support client needs.
</li><li>Ability to understand and navigate firm resources to make recommendations to attorneys related to client support.
</li><li>Provides case management for client matters and coordinates workflow within the team.
</li><li>Ensures attorneys are complying with client requests and requirements, including client specific billing requirements.
</li><li>Manages practice calendars to ensure team operates efficiently.
</li><li>Maintains legal files (both paper &amp; electronic), organizes and files documents in designated order.
</li><li>Updates case information, scans and organizes legal files.
</li><li>Manages document deliveries and tracks final executed documentation.
</li><li>Assists with overflow work and other projects as needed.

</li><li>Collaborates and works with paralegals and other legal support team members where applicable.

</li><li>Problem-solving ingenuity and ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities.

</li><li>Experience in a fast-paced, large law firm environment is highly desired.
