Brightpoint Library is seeking to fill a Library Assistant position. Library Assistants, under the supervision of the Library Director, work directly with students, faculty and staff to provide information services. Library Assistants at the Huntingdon Valley Library are a part of the public services team that provides our library patrons of all ages with efficient and personalized service, whether it be assisting with finding a book on our shelves, accessing a digital resource, or helping patrons with public computers. Under general supervision from the Library Director, the Library Assistant (classification: 4996) works independently to provide library support services in both a physical and digital space. This position is responsible for processing of physical and electronic collections and providing a variety of administrative support.<br>

Functions and Duties:</p><ul><li>
Processing of physical collections, including copy cataloging and metadata maintenance.</li><li>
Provide administrative clerical support for the Roger D. Moe Library and University Archive.</li><li>
Prepare credit card and business expense reports.</li><li>
Manage library budget processes, including paying invoices for annual database/periodical renewals.</li><li>
Participate in reference services for the library.</li><li>
Assist at the front desk when necessary.</li><li>

Performs work in all aspects of the library, including support at the Circulation Desk, preparing materials for circulation, shelving and shelf-reading, providing assistance to library patrons, and other duties as assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Circulation Manager. This position will be scheduled for 12-20 hours per week. Every other Saturday and occasional evening work is required. Although the position is based at the Chatham Community Library, this role may be asked to work at other locations on an as-needed basis.<br>
