 PURPOSE
 
 
 
 The Library Coordinator performs routine clerical duties on site within the Learning Resource Center and supports the basic information needs of the LRC users. The Library Coordinator assists users with locating general information, stock shelves, and process circulation of LRC resources for the campus. This is an important role as the Library Coordinator helps the Learning Resource Center run efficiently and stay organized.
 
 
 
 Job Responsibilities

 Catalog and maintain accurate item records using the Library Management System (LMS)

 Organize resources and reshelve returned items

 Provide students and faculty with general reference services in person, on the phone, and online
 </li>

 Answer library phone calls, organize files on library SharePoint, organize and store physical documents as needed

For the past decade, the District of Columbia Public Library (DCPL) system has been undergoing an aggressive transformation to modernize its facilities and set the strategic direction for 21st century public library services in the District of Columbia. DCPL&rsquo;s physical campus includes 25 neighborhood libraries and the newly modernized Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial (Central) Library.
DCPL is seeking a Library Program Coordinator (Selector) in the Collections Department. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Collection Services, the Library Program Coordinator works with vendors, staff, and other Collections stakeholders to efficiently build on and improve DCPL&rsquo;s collection. This position is responsible for the selection of adult nonfiction, periodicals, and government documents print and electronic materials for DCPL. The incumbent is also responsible for finding and implementing new library collection products.

Uses both quantitative and qualitative information to guide in determining the quantity of materials to purchase and where to place them. Administer some aspects of the budget and fiscal activities.</li><li>
Explore and implement new and innovative library materials, products, and services that would be appropriate for circulation.</li><li>
Coordinate procedures and workflows related to the selection and management of areas of responsibility.</li><li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
Possess a Master&rsquo;s Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university</li><li>
