The Adult Services Librarian provides reference and Readers&rsquo; Advisory services and technology assistance to Library customers and leads paraprofessional staff in managing collections and providing programs. Assists Library customers in the use of digital and print resources, and promotes Library resources, programs, and services. 


RESPONSIBILITIES 

<ul>
<li>Utilizes and accesses information using a broad spectrum of resources, including print, electronic, and online resources.
</li><li>Upholds the highest standards of customer service with polite, helpful, and efficient interactions with vendors, customers, and staff.</li>
<li>Provides leadership, training and guidance to staff and the public in the area of Adult &amp; Teen Services.</li>
<li>Stays current with adult and teen literature, relevant technology, and library trends.
</li><li>Provides reference and Reader&rsquo;s Advisory assistance for users, including topical research and material location.</li>
<li>Works with Collection Services to manage the adult collection.
</li><li>May periodically serve as Person In Charge (PIC), providing support for employees, customers, and facility issues.
</li><li>Performs special projects involving Library promotion and outreach activities in areas of expertise. Conducts Library tours.</li>
<li>Coordinates and/or conducts the proctoring of exams for public.
</li><li>Develops, implements, and staffs programs for adults.</li>
<li>Prepares reports and statistics for review as requested.</li>
<li>Troubleshoots and resolves minor computer hardware and software problems.
</li><li>Attends professional development opportunities.

Founded in 1901, Brooklyn Law School is a distinguished, independent law school located in Brooklyn Heights, New York. The Law School is searching for a Reference and Student Outreach Librarian to support the research and instructional needs of BLS faculty, students, and other library users. The Law School&rsquo;s size, vibrant employee and student population, and commitment to training the next generation of lawyers and promoting social justice, will offer a candidate the opportunity to develop and diversify practical skills and participate be part of a successful educational institution.
The Reference and Outreach Librarian reports to the Associate Librarian for Public Services, is a member of the reference team, and leads the library&rsquo;s outreach efforts. As a member of the reference team, this librarian provides reference assistance to library patrons; participates in weekend reference coverage; assists in developing and promoting instructional and user support materials; participates in the faculty liaison program; assists with other information services activities; and works on team-based projects. We are looking for a curious and thoughtful innovator to lead the development and delivery of research and instruction services focused on artificial intelligence and digital literacy at Criss Library. 
</div><div>Emerging Technologies/AI Librarian:</div><ul>
<li>Guides students and faculty in the ethical and responsible use of AI in research, emphasizing transparency, academic integrity, and responsible use of generative AI tools.</li>
<li>Develops and delivers information literacy instruction and workshops for faculty, staff, and students with an emphasis on AI literacy, ethical AI use, and emerging technologies in information and digital literacy.</li>
<li>As the dedicated faculty librarian for the AI Learning Lab, provides AI Literacy support as well as research assistance and guidance on AI-related topics in research.</li>

JOB SUMMARY
The Librarian 1 is the entry level position to the Librarian job family. The Librarian 1 works alongside members of the Library Management Team and with other key stakeholders to develop policies, procedures, workflows and sustainable approaches for a variety of library programs and services.
 Library Systems &amp; Services (LS&amp;S) is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a full-time-time Librarian 1 in the Youth Services department. In this role, you will provide engaging library services and programs to children and teens in the community. With more senior Librarian or Director oversight, works both independently and with other staff to execute small to large scale projects. Librarians are responsible for organizing and managing all resources in the library and may supervise Junior Library Associates. 
Hours Per Week: 40 .
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
<ul><li>Coordinates and executes a variety of programs and initiatives for the library.</li><li>
Evaluates basic statistical data and prepares basic statistical reports and surveys for the library, LS&amp;S management and other entities i.e. local government/customers.</li><li>

Maintains and updates the library social media presence and webpage and may support social media of other branches.</li><li>
Provides reference and computer help to patrons.</li><li>
