The North Carolina Supreme Court Library seeks a qualified Library Technical Assistant to process materials, and maintain and update existing collections.
<p></p><p><b>Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
</b></p><p>Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
</p><ul><li>Retrieve and open mail; check-in materials electronically via acquisition databases; file new materials; prepare materials for cataloging; and label materials with appropriate classification numbers or designations.
</li><li>Shelve materials; assist in inventories; track orders; and verify shipments.
</li><li>Complete minor preservation procedures on heavily used materials; process shipments from the Government Printing Office; and prepare shipments for the bindery.
</li><li>Shift bound volumes of collection; prepare superseded materials for disposition; and move shelving, furniture, and equipment in the library facility.
</li><li>Open and close the library, when so scheduled.
</li><li>Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

</b></p><p><b>Knowledge of: </b>acquisition procedures for serials collections and/or basic cataloging practices; detailed filing instructions from various vendors/publishers.
</p><p></p><p><b>Skill in: </b>organization; basic computer use; use and maintenance of office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and scanners; and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
</p><p></p><p><b>Ability to: </b>follow standard library methods and principles; compile data for statistical records; learn specific software programs, including proprietary database and office software; follow very specific instructions and guidelines for filing purposes; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships; and lift and move books and furniture.

Job Description</div><div>
The Macdonald-Kelce Library at The University of Tampa has a position available for a Part-Time Library Technical Assistant. This front-line position assists patrons in the use of the library and its resources during weekend hours. Primary responsibilities include the check-out and check-in of circulating items, supervision of student assistants, the answering of phones and greeting visitors, performing inventory, and carrying out opening and closing duties.</div><div></div><div>
The library technical assistant also assumes responsibility of the building when a supervisor is not on duty. This position reports to the Circulation Manager.</div><div></div><div>

1. Provide outstanding customer service with all library patrons.</div><div>
