Specific responsibilities of the role include:</b></p><p><b>
Operational</b></p><ul><li>
Plans assigned activities in an effective and efficient manner, operate equipment or use tooling relative to assigned tasks within framework of Qatar Airways procedures.</li><li>
Reviews work procedures, standards and proposes improvements where procedures are not appropriate to ensure work processes are effective.</li><li>
Responsible for the final release of work accomplished by the Mechanics. Ensure tasks are performed to meet company standard and target such as dispatch reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects.</li><li>
Ensures delivery standard of QR products are met. Aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures. Provide satisfactory support to internal and external customers.</li><li>
Implements solutions to technical problems within his range of his authority, and ensure that aircrafts or components serviceability standards are maintained to meet schedule requirements.</li><li>
Provides guidance and or on the job training to the Technicians and Aircraft Mechanics reporting to this position.</li><li>
When supervising the wok of others, ensuring that acceptable standard of workmanship and quality are maintained and the correct tools are employed to accomplish the task.</li><li>

Additional Accountabilities</b></p><ul><li>
To participate on a new Aircrafts definition and production selection along with the rest of the airline stakeholders.</li><li>
Participate on Product and work scope definition and development through Initial Technical Coordination Meeting (ITCM), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) with involved suppliers and internal stakeholders.</li><li>
To participate with Aircrafts Program Team in the creation Product Specification Document (PSD) or/and the Quality Criteria Documents (QCD) that meets or exceeds the desired Qatar Airways requirements.</li><li>
Participate on the inspections of product/systems mock-ups or demonstration units at supplier facilities or trade shows. Similarly, all relevant mock-ups or demonstration units that need to be shown for review.</li><li>
Verification of product realization through inspection of first article production with relevant stakeholders (FAI).</li><li>
Participation in aircraft pre-definition exercises through trade study meetings, conferences, symposiums etc. with OEMs, suppliers and other operators.</li><li>
Provide technical support and guidance to Aircraft program team to solve quality issues</li></ul>

</p><p>As a Continuing Airworthiness Engineer in Emirates Flight Training Academy, you will provide technical services for the Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) maintenance department to support maintenance activity, and the development of maintenance capability. To provide technical support to the EFTA aircraft fleet to ensure they continue to meet continuing airworthiness requirements, and to provide a high standard of performance and technical dispatch reliability.
</p><p>In this role, you will:
</p><ul><li>Support the maintenance department with the development of aircraft and workshop capability. This includes the addition of new CAR 145 approval capability such as a new aircraft type, new workshop rating, or the addition of a new part number or capability within a workshop rating. This also includes the review of new work tasks not previously carried out within the scope of existing approvals such as scheduled maintenance packages not previously carried out to ensure the department is properly prepared and equipped to conduct the required work. Provide support and expertise for acquisition of new aircraft and end of lease/sales activities.

</li><li>Support the Continuing Airworthiness Manager with the development of EFTA approved maintenance programmes, including the assessment and compliance with manufacturers maintenance data, service bulletins, service letters and in light of operational experience, as required by GCAA or other relevant regulations.
</li><li>Develop and implement a reliability monitoring programme to enable the analysis of the effectiveness of the Approved Maintenance Programme(s) and produce evidence-based recommendations for improvements in reliability, maintenance scheduling, and practices. Deliver technical assistance and operational support in disruption scenarios including handling of technical/AOG (Aircraft on Ground), troubleshooting, aircraft chronic and deferred defects and technical delays. Analyse defect reports raised to identify those which might affect the airworthiness and reliability of the aircraft, and safety of its occupants.
</li><li>Review all mandatory and other continuing airworthiness data such as Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and other service information within an appropriate timeframe to ensure the airworthy condition of the aircraft/engines/components at all times; and nsure aircraft technical updates are also assessed for inclusion in the flight simulator fleet. Produce Engineering Orders for work to be conducted on the aircraft as a result of the assessment of airworthiness directives, service bulletins, or other service publications, and for the accomplishment of other modifications or work as identified as being necessary.
</li><li>Author and obtain the proper approval for modifications prior to embodiment on the EFTA fleet. Ensure modifications are carried out in accordance with the approved standard using appropriately approved data, and that all modifications are properly recorded in the current modification status report for each aircraft.
</li><li>Track the configuration control of aircraft in the EFTA fleet, including the status of installed parts and equipment, current on-board software status, and ensure the mass and balance statement reflects the current status of the aircraft and records of changes in the mass and balance of each aircraft are maintained.
</li><li>Manage required technical data and publications to ensure they are up to date. Manage the subscription, distribution and updating of the revision of all maintenance department documentation, airworthiness data from the Authorities (GCAA, EASA, FAA, etc.) and the aircraft/engine/ component manufacturers.
</li><li>Provide support to the organisation Safety Management System and EFTA Management by carrying out technical investigation of safety events and reports raised within the organisation, including providing feedback from ROSI (Reporting of Safety Incidents) reports to the GCAA; and,
</li><li>Provide content in support of the maintenance department staff training programme, including training sessions, training circulars and training materials for display around the maintenance facilities.
</li></ul><h5 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Qualification
</b></h5><p>To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
</p><ul><li>Degree in Aeronautical, Avionics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence.
</li><li>5+ years in an Airworthiness Engineering Environment, with experience in Multiple CAMO department functions, and at least 2 years on aircraft types similar to the EFTA Fleet.
</li><li>Experience liaising with aircraft manufacturers.
</li><li>Experience of carrying out technical investigations and writing technical reports.
</li><li>Knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, components and power plants, plus good experience using and interpreting aircraft maintenance documentation and other technical data.
</li><li>Ability to analyse and synthesise technical information for implementation in cost effective ways.
</li><li>Knowledge of latest technical developments and industry trends on respective systems.
</li><li>Sound knowledge of computer systems and excellent knowledge of computer software, specifically Microsoft Office products.
</li><li>Good command of written and spoken English.
