Summary:
Responsible for providing high level life insurance and long-term care underwriting expertise during the pre-sales and new business process. Duties of the Bridging Underwriter to include: <ul> <li>Make lending decisions in accordance with Credit Risk Policy and individual mandate thresholds.</li><li>Manage a pipeline of 35-45 Bridging applications, or a volume aligned with team standards, from application to credit approval and drawdown to meet departmental targets.</li><li>Adhere strictly to internal underwriting policy and regulatory requirements, including FCA, PRA, Money Laundering, Prevention of Financial Crime, and Data Protection.</li><li>Collaborate with Sales to progress cases from decision in principle to drawdown.</li><li>Prepare detailed credit papers outlining all relevant conditions and present proposals to the Bridging Credit Committee.</li><li>Review and finalize offer letters.</li><li>Proactively ensure satisfaction of pre-commencement loan conditions and expedite cases to drawdown.</li><li>Ensure accurate and comprehensive data entry into the Bank's electronic systems pre and post drawdown.</li><li>Complete post-completion activities in accordance with Bank policies and processes.</li></ul> Requirements for the successful Bridging Underwriter: <ul> <li>2+ years experience working within Bridging Underwriting</li><li>Demonstrable ability to analyse, negotiate and structure potential bridging loans in accordance with credit policy, and presenting to Credit Committee when required.</li><li>Has previously held a lending mandate</li><li>Previous experience working within both the regulated and unregulated market highly desirable</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building relationships with stakeholders, intermediaries and professionals</li></ul> What's in it for you: <ul> <li>Private Medical Insurance</li><li>26 days holiday</li><li>Hybrid Working offering you the ability to balance your work and home life</li><li>Excellent career development opportunities and sponsorship of relevant qualifications</li><li>And MUCH MORE</li></ul> This vacancy is being advertised by Montpellier Resourcing Associates Limited.
