Job Summary:

(MLS) is a comprehensive foreign language services firm that provides full- spectrum linguistic, analytical and operational support to U.S. Government and private sector customers. MLS provides services in over 100 languages and resources in more than 60 countries. MLS specializes in mobilizing the linguistic, technical and management personnel needed to meet critical communications and operational objectives. Based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area, MLS is accessible 24/7 to respond to short-fused, ongoing and surge requirements worldwide. 
We are actively seeking Sorani Linguists to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting a government agency and your office with translation, transcription, and/or interpretation services. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Linguists shall be required to be on the Travel Team/Travel Only program</li><li>
Consecutive interpretation between source and target languages</li><li>
Translation into English and source language</li><li>
Summarizing/Gisting while drawing upon linguistic or cultural expertise</li><li>
Editing and Quality Control of language products</li></ul>
Requirements: 
<ul><li>
Ability to pass an advanced English test</li><li>
Active TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated Polygraph</li><li>
Ability to score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test</li><li>
Minimum three (3) years&rsquo; professional experience conducting translation, transcription, translation, and/or interpretation</li><li>
College education in target language</li><li>
Workflow Management</li><li>
Subject Matter Expertise in Religion, Science and Technology, and Sponsor Operations areas of focus</li></ul>
Clearance Requirements:
All Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. Preference will be given to Candidates with TS/SCI with CI poly. However, all other candidates with any level of clearance, including those with no clearance, but who are deemed eligible, may be considered.
