Summary :
Transports patients to areas such as operating rooms or x-ray rooms using wheelchairs, stretchers, or moveable beds. May also transport supplies, equipment, specimens, and/or medications.
Responsibilities :
&middot; Lifts or assists others to lift patients to move them on or off beds, examination tables, surgical tables, or stretchers. &middot; Transports patients to treatment units, testing units, operating rooms, or other areas, using wheelchairs, stretchers, or moveable beds. &middot; Cleans, disinfects, and sanitizes equipment, such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, or portable medical equipment, documenting needed repairs or maintenance. &middot; Responds to emergency situations, such as emergency medical calls, security calls, or fire alarms. &middot; Maintains a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed. &middot; May perform other duties upon request.

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
The Transport Coordinator is responsible for the facilitation of medical transport for all HCA Healthcare facilities through dispatching of medical transport assets or coordination of third-party vendors. The position collects clinical information related to patient transport requests and facilitates the patient's movement by matching the patient's clinical needs to the appropriate resource with capability. The Transport Coordinator will collaborate with other areas of the Patient Logistics Center (PLC) and facilities regarding patient needs for medical transportation. This position will use customer service skills and professional communication standards to positively interact with peers, customers, and supervisors.
General Responsibilities:<ul><li>
 Receive medical transportation requests and coordinate transport through third-party vendor coordination and dispatch of medical transport assets</li><li>
 Use technology tools to document patient information, dispatch medical transport assets, and monitor transport progress</li><li>
 Respond to phone calls with a sense of urgency and demonstrate good customer service skills</li><li>
 Receive and maintain EMTALA education to prevent and identify risk to facility</li><li>
 Establish and maintain a high degree of awareness and knowledge of facility medical staff, services and specialized programs</li><li>
 Enter and supports data entry for accurate monitoring and reporting on all key indicators related to calls, admissions and transports</li><li>
 Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are maintained</li><li>
 Participate as an active and collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team</li><li>
 Participate in monthly staff meetings</li><li>
 Deal effectively with dissatisfied customers and escalate cases to leadership</li><li>
