HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Prototype / Model Shop Machinist with experience in fabrication with CNC and standard machine tools. This individual will be responsible for fabricating and modifying parts using standard machine tools including a knee mill, lathe, band saw, drill press, TIG and MIG welder, plasma cutter, pneumatic shear, manual press brake, etc. as well as a CNC router. Parts include sheet metal panels and enclosures with cutouts, milled brackets and mounting fixtures, and welded assemblies. Parts are mostly aluminum with some steel and phenolic parts as well. The individual will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe machine shop, performing equipment maintenance, and ordering tools, material, and consumables. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from verbal descriptions, concept sketches, or engineering drawings to fabricate parts and assemblies. Will work daily with engineers to provide design inputs to help enhance manufacturability of prototype designs. For parts that cannot be produced in house, the individual will coordinate the quoting and production process through outside machine shops and fabricators. Must be inquisitive and have the ability to find solutions to unconventional problems, especially related to part geometries and fitment of tightly packaged assemblies. Under the supervision of the Operation Manager and Maintenance Lead, this position supports the plant facility in all areas of Maintenance and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the <b>Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success</b>. Performs other related duties as assigned.</div>

QUALIFICATIONS</b><b> </b>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</div>
<ul><li>Four-year apprenticeship in a machine shop or technical school specializing in maintenance or shop preferred. Ability to operate a gas and arc welder and perform wielding and fabrication.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with peers, customers and superiors.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Basic math, reading and writing skills.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license purposes of attending training seminars or purchasing parts.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must have ability to operate a forklift, front-end loader, and crane.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Regular attendance is required</li></ul><br>
