Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day to day functions of the nursing service department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long term care facility. Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day to day functions of the nursing service department. Facilitates the resolution of issues and concerns associated with resident / patient care including family issues. Ensure that reference material (i.e., PDR’S, regulations, professional standards of practice, etc.) maintained at the nurses’ stations is current.
 
Recommend to the Director written material that will assist the nursing service department in meeting the day to day needs of residents. Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current at all times and reflects the day to day nursing care procedures used by this facility. Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing service department. Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
 
Makes nursing diagnoses that serve as the basis for the delivery of care. Make daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN with cardiology and clinic experience for a Heart and Vascular Institute outpatient clinic setting in Rapid City, SD.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Details</h3><ul><li>
Outpatient cardiology clinic setting within a Heart and Vascular Institute</li><li>
Patient population includes General Cardiology, Electrophysiology, and Vascular Surgery cases</li><li>
Caseload of up to 22 patients per day</li><li>
Uses Epic EMR (experience required)</li><li>
8-hour day shifts with no weekend rotation and no on-call requirements</li><li>
Floating limited to within the Cardiology clinic only</li><li>
2 out of 4 holidays required, including the day after Thanksgiving</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Requirements</h3><ul><li>
Current LPN license (license required if applicable)</li><li>
Current BLS certification</li><li>
Minimum 1 year of clinic experience required</li><li>
Cardiology experience required</li><li>
Epic EMR experience required</li><li>
Completion of a board-approved nursing education program</li><li>
Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible</li><li>
2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration</li><li>
DOB and SSN required for consideration</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Additional Information</h3><ul><li>
Supported by a team that includes an EKG tech, 3 Clinical Assistants (1 per 10 rooms), a Lead RN, and a Nursing Manager</li><li>
Orientation includes facility-level onboarding per protocol followed by 3&ndash;4 days of side-by-side unit training</li><li>
First-time travelers will be considered; clinic experience of any kind preferred</li><li>
Former permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler</li><li>
Navy blue scrubs required</li><li>
Full-week time off requests are preferred to be accommodated through contract extension</li><li>
