MCFR Supplier Project Engineer

TerraPower is seeking a Supplier Project Engineer to support the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) Program and the Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment (MCRE), as needed. This position reports to the MCFR Project Management Discipline Manager. The role centers on the procurement coordination, project management, and delivery of key equipment and systems, beginning with the MCRE Mockup and evolving towards the MCRE Reactor. You&rsquo;ll collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Legal, Procurement, Quality, and Finance organizations in a high-performing, multi-disciplinary environment to deliver MCRE equipment on time and on budget. This role requires a strong understanding of contract plans and specifications, field operations, project scheduling, cost forecasting, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a few construction projects under their belt, proactive in identifying and resolving issues, ensuring compliance at the site, and driving operational excellence with the team.  TIC is a Kiewit Subsidiary that provides direct-hire construction services for industrial projects. TIC Denver has projects in Power, Industrial Manufacturing, Oil Gas Chemical, and Mining across the United States. Its projects range from small capital work up to major EPC projects. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry in an &ldquo;open-shop&rdquo; environment.

 Responsibilities

 Contract Compliance &amp; Field Oversight
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Take corrective actions as needed to resolve field issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review subordinates&rsquo; work for compliance with contract documents; address deficiencies and implement corrective measures.
 </li>
 </ul>
 <li>
 Project Scheduling &amp; Coordination
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy.
 </li>
 </ul>
 <li>
 Document Control &amp; Change Management
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Manage document control processes including logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review new issue drawings for changes in conditions; quantify impacts and communicate with supervisor.
 </li>
 <li>
 Distribute updated documents to field teams and ensure proper implementation.
 </li>
 </ul>
 <li>
 Cost Forecasting &amp; Financial Planning
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Prepare monthly cost projections using data from project management systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop quarterly cash flow projections to support financial planning.
 </li>
 </ul>
 <li>
 Operational Improvement &amp; Leadership
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Recommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods, and procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support and manage the project team, including direct reports and cross-functional personnel.
 </li>
 </ul>

 Safety &amp; Compliance
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Promote and enforce company environmental health and safety programs at the project level.
 </li>
 <li>
 Foster a safety-oriented culture across all project activities.

 Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent.
 </li>
 <li>
 5&ndash;10+ years of experience in construction or engineering.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven experience managing engineers and project teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Working knowledge of project controls terminology and scheduling practices.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
 </li>
 </ul>

 Base Compensation: $111,000/yr - $140,000
