<div>The Senior Surveyor I is considered an intermediate to advanced level Surveyor position. The primary function is to examine and report on vessels and other marine structures during and after construction relative to compliance with the applicable requirements for maintaining the vessel in Classification with ABS and meeting associated statutory and special service requirements related to the Safety of Life at Sea, Loadline, Tonnage, Cargo Gear, and Pollution Prevention Certification. When necessary, responsible for administering office procedures and monitoring business performance at an assigned port.

The use of small tools and the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in accordance with ABS safety procedures, may be required.</div>

<div>The Surveyor II is an intermediate-level position for an individual under the supervision and guidance of experienced field surveyors. The Surveyor II&rsquo;s primary function is to examine and report on vessels and other marine structures during and after construction relative to compliance with the applicable requirements for maintaining the vessel in Classification with ABS and meeting associated statutory and special service requirements related to Safety of Life at Sea, Loadline, Tonnage, Cargo Gear and Pollution Prevention Certification.

The role<ul><li>
Conduct relevant activities, undertake project management, and provide advice for service delivery within own area of expertise, ensuring adherence to budget constraints and contractual requirements.</li><li>
Produce deliverables in accordance with agreed schedules, budgets, and quality levels, utilizing appropriate formats. Take responsibility for reviewing and monitoring the work of other employees as requested.</li><li>
Discuss and present deliverables to internal and external clients, offering suggestions and solutions as necessary.</li><li>
Perform activities in alignment with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.</li><li>
Pursue Continuous Professional Development to maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.</li><li>
Assess or recommend the time and value of work for external clients, assisting in identifying the most suitable fee and cost structure.</li><li>
Mentor and coach other employees as appropriate, promoting effective knowledge transfer and application.</li><li>
Contribute to external client management, continually improving service delivery through proactive monitoring and acting on client feedback appropriately.</li><li>
Ensure that the necessary authorizations are obtained and kept up to date, which may involve Activity Monitoring.</li><li>
Undertake routine administration tasks as required, following current processes and procedures.</li><li>
Collaborate closely with the site Project Manager, delivering project requirements promptly. Maintaining the confidentiality of all project specifications and deliverables is essential; no sharing outside the organization is permitted.</li></ul> 
What you bring<ul><li>
The ideal candidate should possess a degree or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution in the relevant field of engineering (Marine/Mechanical) or physical science (minimum of two years program) recognized by Lloyd's Register.</li><li>
Alternatively, qualifications from a marine or nautical institution along with relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer.</li><li>
Experience in Class surveys with LNG Survey authorizations would be an added advantage.</li><li>
Membership in an appropriate professional institution.</li><li>
Working towards or having achieved chartered or incorporated engineering status.</li><li>
Commitment to working in accordance with professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics as outlined in IMS01.</li><li>
Ability to utilize a combination of general and specialized engineering knowledge and understanding to apply both existing and emerging technologies.</li><li>
Proficiency in applying suitable theoretical and practical methods to analyze and provide solutions to engineering problems.</li><li>
Capability to provide technical and commercial management, such as project management and process management.</li><li>
Proficiency in the English language at a level commensurate with the work requirements.</li></ul>
