Position Overview:</div>
<div>
The Packaging Laboratory Scientist I is responsible for developing and/or executing laboratory science projects, managing &amp; executing internal and external laboratory testing, maintaining laboratory equipment, and creating and implementing new test methodologies. This role supports new products, cost savings projects and manufacturing/supply chain improvements, and works cross-functionally to add value to the initiatives. You&rsquo;ll work with a diverse array of packaging formats and materials used for our leading brands including McCormick, Old Bay, Lawry&rsquo;s, Grill Mates, French&rsquo;s, Cholula, Frank&rsquo;s, and Gourmet Garden.</div>

Key Responsibilities:</div>

<li>Development and/or execution of laboratory science projects.</li>
<li>Execution of laboratory testing of packages, packaging components, or packaging materials internally and through external partners, to validate or predict performance, durability, function &amp; reliability.</li>
<li>Laboratory operations support to include implementation of safety practices, creation &amp; maintenance of test procedures and SOPs, and equipment calibration &amp; maintenance.</li>
<li>Manage multiple work assignments concurrently with accountability for deliverables and milestones.</li>

Required Qualifications:</div>

<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Package Engineering, Packaging Technology, or a technically relevant discipline.</li>
<li>1-3 years of experience in technical areas of laboratory testing, laboratory projects and laboratory operations, preferably in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.</li>
<li>Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</li>

 The Sigma Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Research and Development Scientist to join our Welding and Joining team-a dynamic group at the forefront of advanced manufacturing and materials science.
 
 
 In this role, you will contribute to cutting-edge research and development in high energy density welding, arc welding, brazing, and solid-state joining technologies that support critical national security and scientific missions. You'll work on complex, real-world challenges ranging from weld distortion and residual stress to process optimization, leveraging both experimental and computational modeling approaches.
 
 
 We are looking for a scientist with a strong foundation in solidification metallurgy and a passion for applying scientific and engineering principles to develop innovative, practical solutions. This position offers the opportunity to lead impactful R&amp;D efforts, support production across the NNSA complex, and drive improvements in welding and joining processes.
 
 
 You will collaborate with a wide range of partners, including internal programs in weapons, alternative energy, and global security, as well as external collaborators across universities, industry, and other national laboratories.  The Water Research Center, New York University Abu Dhabi, is seeking to hire an Associate Research Scientist to develop calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification.
 
 
 The successful candidate will develop new calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification applications. To explore this area of macrocycle-based porous frameworks for water contaminant removal, the candidate will be involved in the directed synthesis of organic macrocycle containing linkers and porous frameworks and then investigate the supramolecular interactions with various organic pollutants. This would require knowledge in the design and synthesis of porous frameworks, particularly in techniques such as Schlenk line, glove box, powder X-ray diffraction, electron diffraction, electron microscopy, and porosity analysis. The candidate is expected to have a thorough understanding of the analytical techniques used to characterize the materials. Experience in the application of such materials to water treatment is preferred. Associate Research Scientist in the Water Research Center – Dr. Ali Trabolsi

 NYUAD Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist to work on the development of membrane desalination to treat water from the Arabian Gulf feed sources and on the design and scale-up of low energy membranes for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering.
 
 
 The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functional membrane materials, including nanostructured polymer membranes tailored to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane distillation, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. Overview:
The Radiation Effects and Microstructural Analysis Group (REMAG) within the Materials Science and Technology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking postdoctoral candidates to investigate the mechanical and thermophysical behavior of irradiated metals and ceramics using advanced experimental and computational methods. The selected candidates will conduct research on irradiated materials using the capabilities of the Irradiated Materials Examination and Testing Facility and the Low Activation Materials Development and Analysis Laboratory at ORNL, along with computational tools for integrated atomistic modeling in support of materials research for extreme environments. The candidates will develop and apply advanced experimental characterization, mechanical testing, 3D microstructural analysis, finite element simulations, atomistic modeling, and thermal transport measurement techniques to advance mechanistic understanding and predictive capabilities for advanced nuclear materials systems. In addition, this work includes developing processes that connect mechanical and thermophysical testing data with the microstructures of ceramic and metallic materials for eventual incorporation into materials qualification processes and nuclear energy system performance models. 
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Perform experimental research to evaluate the effects of neutron irradiation on the mechanical and thermophysical properties of nuclear ceramics, composites, structural alloys, and related materials.</li><li>
Conduct detailed microstructural and defect characterization of irradiated materials using advanced techniques such as transmission and scanning electron microscopy, X-ray tomography, and related methods.</li><li>
Analyze experimental data to determine mechanisms of irradiation-induced and thermally induced damage and to establish microstructure&ndash;property relationships.</li><li>
Develop and execute atomistic and mesoscale simulations to predict deformation, anisotropy evolution, defect behavior, and materials performance under irradiation, thermal, and mechanical loading.</li><li>
Plan and perform thermophysical property measurements and integrate measurement results with modeling predictions through model&ndash;experiment validation workflows.</li><li>
Develop and implement advanced data analysis methodologies, automated processing tools, and reproducible workflows to generate validated, publication-quality datasets, analyses, and visualizations.</li><li>

Postdocs:

Postdoctoral Research Associate- Experimental and Computational Research on Nuclear Materials

 The Smart Materials Lab (Pan&ccaron;e Naumov Group) in the Division of Science and Mathematics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit an associate research scientist to work on crystal structure determination using electron or X-ray crystallography.
 
 
 Candidates must have substantial experience in crystallography, specifically in the structure solution and refinement of small molecule crystals using either electron or X-ray diffraction techniques. While candidates with experience in structure analysis based on powder diffraction, neutron diffraction, or scattering data will also be considered, preference will be given to those with expertise in electron diffraction. Candidates should be capable of preparing samples, independently collecting data, and solving and refining crystal structures, including those that are theoretically and experimentally challenging, such as structures that exhibit twinning, disorder, or that change or decay over time. Proficiency in refining structures from electron diffraction data collected using a microscope or specialized equipment is preferred.
 
 
 The position is for two years, with the possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement. The successful candidate is also expected to play an active role in other projects and activities within the Smart Materials Lab and assist in supervising undergraduate or PhD students.
 
 
 Applicants must hold a PhD with at least 3 years of experience in chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related field, with a focus on crystallography.
