 The Mathnasium Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality mathematical instruction to students using the Mathnasium Method. The Instructor is committed to providing exceptional customer service through an expert approach that is personal and prescriptive, attending to each individual student&rsquo;s needs. The Instructor builds students&rsquo; confidence and self-esteem through successful encounters and interactions with carefully selected materials. Instructors are responsible for creating, executing, and updating Learning Plans, planning and administering assessments, maintaining student binders, monitoring progress during each session, and ensuring a positive, engaging, and productive learning environment. The Instructor works as part of a team and operates in a team-teaching environment where collaboration and communication ensure all student needs are addressed. The Mathnasium Instructor is the backbone of Mathnasium&rsquo;s customer service by delivering exceptional math instruction for students.

 Instructional Responsibilities
 
 
 
 &middot; Teach using Mathnasium methodology, terminology, instructional icons, and prescribed teaching practices.
 
 
 &middot; Deliver instruction strictly aligned with each student&rsquo;s current Learning Plan.
 
 
 &middot; Actively engage, motivate, and encourage students during instructional sessions.
 
 
 &middot; Monitor student progress throughout the Mathnasium Hour and ensure students are progressing through assigned work.
 
 
 &middot; Evaluate, correct, and provide clear, constructive feedback on student work using positive reinforcement techniques.
 
 
 &middot; Identify when students are struggling, disengaged, or ready to advance and respond appropriately.
 
 
 &middot; Assist students with homework when applicable and reinforce key mathematical concepts.
 
 
 &middot; Use manipulatives (objects) and multiple instructional approaches to support student understanding.

Position Summary
 
Under the supervision of the Department Head and/or Lead Faculty, Adjunct Faculty have as their primary duty the instruction of assigned college-level and/or learning support classes. Major Responsibilities: It is the major responsibility of a faculty member at Florida National University to provide quality instruction and career advisement to all students. The faculty also is responsible for maintaining grades and for the development of course objectives, outline, syllabi, and course competencies. 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Reads, understands and complies with the University&rsquo;s mission, the catalog, the University&rsquo;s policies and procedures, the Faculty Handbook, and the institutional effectiveness process.</li><li>
Responds to communications (e-mail/voice-mail) on a daily basis.</li></ul>
3. Provides appropriate level of instruction and quality instruction to students.<ul><li>
Ensures the assessment of students learning outcomes per course.</li><li>
Submits, annually, to the Department Head or Division Head, the results of research done into a study of the local careers and industry regarding appropriateness of course/program content.</li><li>
Reports to the Registrar&rsquo;s office all grades and submits reports on a timely fashion.</li><li>
Attends all faculty meetings, professional development functions and University committees to which they have been assigned.</li><li>
Ensures that all electronic library resources are used for University work only.</li><li>
Maintains the posted hours for the purpose of student advisement and tutoring.</li><li>
Performs those duties designated by the Department Chairperson.</li><li>
Works with the librarians in the establishment and weeding of the library program and course collection development.</li><li>
Oversee compliance with licensing and accrediting organizations.</li><li>
Continuously oversee actions for improvements at campus level sited in the Faculty&rsquo;s Planning, Assessment, and Implementation For</li><li>
Participates in the self studies and committees conducted by the University.</li><li>
Participate in the new students&rsquo; orientation.</li><li>
Support and participate in University Commencement Ceremonies.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li><li>
Ensure they are in compliance with Title IX of Education Amendments Act of 1972.</li></ul>
19. Follow all FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulation and the FNU Code of Ethics. As well as, Title IX, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, as amended from time to time (&ldquo;FERPA&rdquo;), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014, as amended from time to time (&ldquo;FIPA&rdquo;), the EU General Data Protection Regulation as amended from time to time (GDPR) and all other applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations. 
Education / Experience Requirements:<ul><li> Required: master&rsquo;s in mathematics, minimum of 18 graduate credits in Mathematics</li><li> Minimum of three (3) years of teaching or field experience</li></ul><ul><li>
Experience in higher education preferred.</li><li>
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Team player with strong work ethic who takes initiative.</li></ul>
