Job Purpose:
The HVAC CAD Inputter is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and preparing sheetmetal ductwork and HVAC system components into CAD/CAM software for fabrication and coordination. This role supports estimating, fabrication, and project management teams by ensuring that drawings and takeoffs are precise and aligned with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities: - Input HVAC duct systems into CAD/CAM software from design drawings, engineer plans, or field markups. - Build/modify 2D or 3D models to meet project requirements and fabrication standards. - Ensure accuracy of dimensions, materials, connectors, gauges, seams, and reinforcement. - Prepare shop drawings, fabrication files, and material lists. - Coordinate with shop foreman and fabrication teams. - Maintain revision control and organized file structures. - Review plans for completeness and identify discrepancies.
